KN has update on 3* ATH Richard Jibunor. He plans on taking a lot of visits this summer which will include AU. He is being by 3 coaches at AU in Rodeny Garner, Travis Williams and Kodi Burns. Apparently we are pushing fact we are willing to teach him the game because we like his personality so much and think he will be a good fit. He doesn't have any leaders right now but Auburn, Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Georgia & LSU standout. If the Dawgs offer that could change things since he lives in Athens & I am pretty sure that family he is living with are big UGA fans

Finally, KN says 3* S Jamien Sherwood & 3* ATH RIchard Jibunor are planning on coming to BCW. Here's list of players he has been told will visit that weekend

3* S Joseph Foucha
3* WR Shedrick Jackson
4* RB Asa Martin
4* S Kyler McMichael
4* DT Coynis Miller
4* S Quinarious Monday
4* WR Justyn Ross

I wouldn't be shocked if someone like 4* OG Trey Hill or 4* LB JJ Peterson end up making it that weekend as well. Could be a big weekend for AU

KN put up a recruiting insider this afternoon. Here's summary

- AU feels really good about where they stand in WR recruiting. The staff feels confident they will land 4* Matthew Hill and 3* Shedrick Jackson. They also feel like they are in good spots with 4* Justyn Ross, 4* Seth Williams & 4* Anthony Schwartz. Even tho there's a lot of buzz with Clemson and Bama for Ross, AU staff still feels good about where they stand and feel like the improved passing game this fall will really help. AU also is cautiously optimistic on Williams but recognize that if Bama really pushes it could be tough. As for Schwartz, clear UF leads but AU looks to be #2. Something to watch is his mom is really high on AU

- 4* LB Quay Walker apparently also plans to be at BCW. KN says AU seems to be recruiting Walker harder again

- AU is being very patient at the TE position. KN says staff plans on visiting 3 players this week in the Atlanta area: 3* Ben Bresnahan, 3* John FitzPatrick, & NR Tommy Tremble. None hold AU offers but KN seems to think chances are high one of these guys will be AU's TE signee this year. Not sure if that means we don't think we can land Tyneil Hopper or if we are moving on. Would hate to hear that either way

- Joey Gatewood apparently put up a 11.1 time on the 100m this spring. He's interested in learning more about Bama but still seems locked in with AU

- AU visited commit 3* RB Shaun Shivers, 4* LB Zakoby McClain & 3* S Jamien Sherwood Friday. Sherwood seems likely to stay instate but AU is a real threat

- Sounds like AU has become the clear favorite for 3* DB Juanyeh Thomas. Was shaping up to be an AU/UF battle but it appears Gators not as hard after him as AU. Right now the Tigers have made him a clear top priority. He wants to commit before senior season

FWIW KN also said that AU could take 5 WRs if someone they couldn't say no to wanted jump on board. Someone asked about Jacob Copeland & KN said he thinks AU has backed off some on him

What do we see in Juanyeh that nobody else does?

Not sure. His highlight tape is mostly him on offense. Apparently he only got thrown at 4 times last year because teams didn't want to test him. This was the first offer Greg Brown sent out though so it seems like this is Greg Brown's guy. I do like the fact he's 6'2" and can flat out run. I honestly have no idea how good or not good Brown is at evaluating talent so we will see what happens with Thomas

One thing I do like about Brown is he seems to prioritize length at DB over everything else. Majority of our offers since he's arrived has gone out to guys that are 6'2"+. If they aren't that big then they are ridiculously fast ala JaKorey Hawkins (who is still 6'1"). Not seeing a ton of 5'10" or 5'11" guys which is a nice change

All things Auburn recruiting (247)
quote:

FLORIDA -- While in Florida to check on Auburn targets, we figured Sunday evening would be a great time to host a Facebook Live chat to take any and all questions about Tigers recruiting. In this segment, we covered prospects such as 5-star receiver Justyn Ross, 4-star running backs Asa Martin and James Cook, 4-star receiver Matthew Hill and 5-star quarterback Justin Fields, we talked about who could be next to commit and briefly chatted about Big Cat Weekend -- which is June 3.

Cliff notes ...

RB James Cook -- AU in top 5. Will visit in June. Doesn't seem 100% solid to FSU
OT William Barnes -- UF leading but AU in the hunt.
WR Anthony Schwartz -- UF teams to beat. AU second.
S Jamien Sherwood -- AU a sleeper it seems like. Will be at Big Cat
Next to commit: Watch Matthew Hill, Shedrick Jackson, Juanyeh Thomas, Quindarious Monday.
QB Justin Fields: AU probably 3rd behing Penn State and UF. But in the hunt.

Just a few nuggets ...

Tigers made the top 10 for 2019 4* LB Owen Pappoe. Probably an FSU lean right now with UGA & Bama in the next group. AU has work to do. Grayson has a ton of P5 talent in the 2019 class however it looks like FSU is probably gonna haul the majority in because they jumped on 3* Kenyatta Watson whose dad is basically the handler for the group

3* RB Master Teague is apparently close to a decision. AU is considered the team to beat right now but UGA, TEN & SCAR are all threats. Would be pumped to land this dude. I think he's a perfect fit for our system and severely underrated

Decision soon for RB target (247)
quote:

Master Teague ... We think Auburn or UGA. Tigers have made him a priority. .... We reported a couple weeks ago AU was in this more than people thought -- and now there are some who think the Tigers may land him.

I'll try to get more intel on this ASAP.

Auburn recruiting: Crystal Ball trends (247)
quote:

With six commitments, Auburn has approximately 15-16 spots left to fill in the 2018 class.

Who will the Tigers land?

That can't be predicted with 100 percent accuracy. For starters, National Signing Day is more than eight months away. Second, we are, after all, dealing with teenagers, whose minds often change with the wind.

That said, generally speaking the 247Sports Crystal Ball seems to be a fairly good indicator of where a prospect will sign -- especially as you get closer to a recruit's decision date.

So, who is Auburn trending for in the Crystal Ball? And who do the Tigers trail for in the eyes of the pickers?

With Big Cat Weekend -- Auburn's signature recruiting event -- just a few weeks away here's a quick look at some of the primary players the Tigers are involved with in this recruiting cycle:

5-star WR Justyn Ross

My Crystal Ball pick: Auburn

Level of confidence: Medium/low

Breakdown: It's an all-out battle for the state's No. 1 recruit between Auburn, Alabama and Clemson. He'll be at Big Cat Weekend on June 3 -- and his mother probably will be with him.

5-star QB Justin Fields

My Crystal Ball pick: No pick made

Level of confidence: N/A

Breakdown: Fields is committed to Penn State, but that seems a little shaky. Florida may have the best chance of flipping him, with Auburn next.

Breakdown: The Tigers keep hanging around, but most think it'll be Georgia or Clemson with FSU also near the top.
