CORNERBACK

SPOTS TO FILL: 2

BEST BET: Juanyeh Thomas

411: Why did we go with Thomas over top target Jalyn Armour-Davis? Only because we think there is an easier path to landing Thomas at this time. Florida is a threat, but it sounds like Auburn has made him more of a priority. Meanwhile, it's an all-out battle with Florida State for Armour-Davis. For now, Thomas seems like the best bet.

OTHERS OF NOTE: Jalyn Armour-Davis, Jordan Miner, Christian Tutt

SAFETY

SPOTS TO FILL: 2

BEST BET: Quindarious Monday

411: Auburn has a big lead for Monday and if things go well he potentially could join the class before the start of the upcoming season. The Tigers have recruited him harder than anyone else and that has paid off. Keep an eye on Georgia, which might be trying to make a push. For now, Monday seems like the best bet.

OTHERS OF NOTE: Joseph Foucha, Myles Mason

KN put up more info on 3* RB Master Teague and the recent CB we got from him by JC Shurburtt. It's unclear if it's a 3 or 2 teams race between AU/UGA/SCAR. Confusion lies with how in the race the Gamecocks are right now. After talking with multiple sources Shurburtt decided to put in a CB to AU. KN isn't ready to do the same just yet but the chatter he's hearing is very positive for AU. It's unclear where he is on our board but it could end up being a first come, first serve thing for RBs between Teague, Joiner, Martin & Pierce. KN says it's not 100% whether AU will take 3 backs this class but thinks if it's the right two they definitely will but not sure who is at the top of the board.

Personally I want Teague & Joiner/Pearce. Joiner would be more of an athlete and probable ends up as either a WR or H-Back but could help at RB too. Pearce would give us two true workhorse backs in him and Teague with Shivers as a change of pace guy. Not sold on Martin

Apparently there's a chance AU takes 5 OL this class. We will for sure take 4 OL with 2 being interior guys and 2 being tackles. There's a chance we could look at swing guy for that 5th spot or if someone like Trey Hill wanted to jump on board. If we decide to go 5 then I like chances of still landing 4* Tank Jenkins. Right now just not sure if we would take because he is probably a guard at next level

KN also discussed said that despite all the guys AU targeting at RB, 3* Shaun Shivers is still a guy staff really likes and wants. Shivers in return is really solid

KN had update on 3* S Joseph Foucha out of New Orleans about his planned visit for this weekend. Apparently a lot of Foucha's interest in AU stems from fact he is a big Cam Newton fan. Has wanted to visit for some time now but hadn't really been able to make it till recently. He says we are recruiting him the hardest right now and then mentions Arkansas, Oregon and Arizona State as other programs after him hard. He plans on dropping a top 12 on May 17th the date of his spring game and for now wants to announce on NSD but that could change. His #1 goal is to play as a freshman. Greg Brown visited him earlier this past week

QB target talks top schools (247)
quote:

Quarterback Jarren Williams of Lawrenceville (Ga.) Central Gwinnett is a wanted man. In fact, he is one of the most sought-after players in Georgia right now. We profiled him Tuesday because Auburn has started to show interest. In fact, Tigers ofensive coordinator Chip Lindsey will watch him practice next week. Right now, it's an all-out feeding frenzy for Williams as top programs search for a quarterback. FSU and LSU visited this week. Georgia just offered. Florida is recruiting him extremely hard. So are Tennessee and Ole Miss. But according to Williams, Kentucky, the program he de-committed from last week, still leads. Earlier in the week, we wrote this article on Williams and his interest in Auburn. In this podcast interview, you can hear him talk about all of his top schools -- and get a quick breakdown from Keith Niebuhr and Kipp Adams of 247Sports.

Meet Auburn's April offers (247)
quote:

As you might expect, it was a busy April for Auburn football recruiting as the Tigers put out offers to prospects from across the South.

By our unofficial count, Auburn offered seven class-of-2018 recruits last month. They went to prospects in three states -- Florida, Alabama and Georgia.

For the 2019 class, we found five recruits that claimed April Auburn offers.

Here's a look at who got them ....

3* WR Shedrick Jackson

Jackson is the nephew of Auburn great Bo Jackson. He'll visit the Tigers this weekend. They're probably the team to beat.
