ESPN reminds me of MTV changing from music videos to whatever that shite is now.
This is an excellent comparison
No it is not. Badically what you are saying is that ESPN should only show highlights that everyone had already seen 6 times on thier phone by the time sports center rolls around. The idea that some 1990s business model will save the channel from cord cuttera is laughable.
If opinions shows do not work, then why does sports radio exist? You conflated not liking certain personality with a failed business model. ESPN is still generating billions in profit, the are simply streamlining. Why do they need Dr. Jerry Punch as the 11am sideline reporter for Perdue vs. Illinois?

We aren't slow playing Martin at all. He just really likes Florida

It's no shock that Florida's recruiting has sucked since Mcelwain has arrived (in comparison to the success of other Florida classes). I strongly believe that as a matter of policy, recruits should stay away from schools whose coaches have heads that look like penises.

has anyone bothered to watch Tae Provens tapes? Seems like Horton absolutely loves him and some of the Auburn writers do too, but he's ranked pretty low.
I like Provens but not sure I want both him and Shivers in same class. Neither guy to me is a 20-30 carry guy

So what are we doing RB wise?
After a lot of guys
5* James Cook (longshot but supposed to visit)
5* Lorenzo Lingard (still communicate with him but seems doubtful at this point)
4* Dameon Pierce (soft Bama commit)
4* Harold Joiner (wants to be a RB but most teams including us think he will outgrow the position)
4* Asa Martin (claims Florida is leader but AU has a good shot at him, Bama offering could change things though)
3* Master Teague (my personal favorite of the bunch, lots of teams battling for him)
3* Tae Provens (offered a longtime ago but seems to have fallen down our board right now)
3* Charles Strong (FSU commit that likes AU but not sure how hard we pushing
Definitely a lot of work to do right now but there are lots of names out there we are chasing
quote:
I feel like we are slow playing the instate guys we probably would have a good chance at if we pushed. It would suck to lose Martin and Joiner out of state.
We aren't slow playing them. Joiner wants to be the bellcow back and LSU says he will be that. Problem is he is already 6'3", some have measured him at 6'4". Basically everyone not LSU, including us, are recruiting him as an athlete meaning they would use him at RB but also WR and Bama even said TE. He wants to be a RB but might outgrow the position. Lindsey loves Martin which is why a few months ago we started pushing hard. I still don't think he lands at Florida and will either play DB for Bama or RB for us
Definitelly not clear cut who ends up the being the running backs this class. I wouldn't be shocked if we took a JUCO kid too. As of now I think Martin will end up the guy but don't sleep on us flipping Pierce. Basically him and Bama have parted ways though UGA seems to be his current next favorite

He's selling two straight SEC championship appearances hard right now

Well Randy you should be pumped. AU has officially offered Justin Fields and have decided to sign 2 QBs with Fields as top target. Gatewood is apparently on board with us recruiting another QB. Fields is supposed? to visit soon

Also Bama 247 guy CBd Andres Fox to AU. Actually starting to think we gonna get this kid. Not many times a kid facing this much pressure from family and friends to go to Bama decides AU. So we will see if it sticks or happens at all

Tindall talks T-Will, Tigers and top schools (247)
quote:
COLUMBIA, S.C. — The Atlanta Falcons jersey of Travis Williams hangs on the wall outside the weight room at Spring Valley High.
At a school known for producing football talent, Williams was one of the best.
Before reaching the NFL, he played linebacker at Auburn. Today, he is that school’s linebacker coach — and one of his top targets plays at his high school alma mater.
On Monday, Williams visited Spring Valley to check on 4-star backer Channing Tindall.
The Tigers are one of five programs that stand out at the moment, along with Florida, Georgia, Notre Dame and South Carolina. Other schools also are in the mix.
According to Tindall, his relationship with Williams is the main reason Auburn is in the hunt.
“I have a really, really good relationship with Coach Williams,” Tindall said earlier this week. “We are both from South Carolina, both linebackers. Play the same position. And both we’re getting recruited after coming to this school.”
Tindall added, “He has a lot of energy.”
The 6-feet-2, 213-pound Tindall is the No. 21 outside backer in the 247Sports Composite. He visited the Tigers earlier this year and came away impressed.
That said, intel suggests the Bulldogs and Gamecocks might currently be the teams to beat.
Tindall said this week he potentially could attend Auburn’s Big Cat Weekend recruiting event June 3. Also, he told us it appears as though Auburn’s efforts to recruit him have picked up.
“They say I could play inside or outside,” Tindall said.
To hear the SEC Recruiting Buzz's full interview with Tindall, hit play above. It'll offer a lot of insight into his recruitment.

KN had an update on 4* ATH Alaric Williams academics situations. He's the only recruit at this time that looks like a risk. The good news is it's school work and not ACT/SAT scores. Sounds like needs to get the GPA up or take certain classes to get qualified. Says it could go either way right now but feels confident he will get it done. AU staff feels confident he will qualify but will probably enroll later than most of the other recruits

KN also put together a list of what targets staff has visited so far
4/20 - 5* WR Justyn Ross (Chip Lindsey/Kodi Burns)

4/24 - 4* LB Channing Tindall (Travis Williams)
4/24 - 4* RB Harold Joiner (Tim Horton)
4/25 - 3* RB Master Teague
4/25 - 4* S Brendon Harris

3* WR Shedrick Jackson is expected visit this weekend and next weekend according to KN. He's here for Bo Bikes Bama this weekend and then next will take an unofficial visit next weekend. Claims he wants to wait a bit before committing but wouldn't be shocked if that changed
Posted on 4/29/17 at 2:35 pm to TigerPaw1
3* CB Kendric Torain was apparently supposed to visit this weekend. Not sure if he made the trip or not. KN thinks if AU pushes we could become factor. I think this kid is really underrated. 6'2" corners are always a good thing
Posted on 4/29/17 at 2:36 pm to TigerPaw1
3* CB Juanyeh Thomas was supposed to visit yesterday but him and HS coach decided to hold off and wait till his team is done with spring practice

Hand visited 4* QB Joey Gatewood this week. Chip Lindsey will visit him later this spring after track season

Auburn offers freshman DT (247)
quote:
Auburn on Thursday offered one of the top young defensive recruits in the country.
And, he's only a freshman.
Per Patrick Magee of the Sun-Herald (Miss.), that player is 2020 tackle McKinnley Jackson of Lucedale (Miss.) George County.
"Jackson had an impressive freshman season at George County, registering 60 tackles, including a whopping 30 for negative yardage. The 15-year-old was named a first-team Freshman All-American by MaxPreps," Magee wrote.
Jackson already holds four offers -- Auburn, Ole Miss, Memphis and Louisiana-Lafayette.

KN has VIP update on 3* DT Allen Love. He's an instate kid whose stock is on the rise. Holds 27 offers but still looking for one from AU. Garner has told him the just need to evaluate him further before offering. Garner is expected to visit him this week. Love says an AU offer would definitely change things, for now top group is Kentucky, Louisville, Memphis and Tennessee.

5-star Ross names top 11 (247)
quote:
Five-star receiver Justyn Ross of Phenix City (Ala.), one of Auburn's top overall targets, has released his first official list of top schools.
And, it's a lengthy one.
According to Ross, these 11 programs made his cut: Auburn, Alabama, Clemson, Florida, FSU, LSU, Miami, Mississippi State, Ohio State, Ole Miss and Southern California.
The 6-feet-4, 197-pound Ross is the No. 5 receiver and No. 28 overall recruit in the 247Sports Composite.
He's No. 1 for 2018 in the state of Alabama.
Already this year, Ross has visited Auburn four times. Many consider Auburn, Alabama and Clemson to be the front-runners from the above group.
Ross does not plan to announce a commitment until after the season, but has admitted that is fluid. His mother is serving in the Middle East and expects to return home in June. After she does, he'd like to visit many of his top schools with her to further narrow things down.
