So, in a nutshell... Corey's horny prick destroyed our softball empire?

Great...

More often than not nepotism in sports leads to a downfall rather than a prolonged "empire"

I would much rather higher a proven coach when Clint retires than his son who's never been a HC just because of his last name

I'm assuming that Clint stays at least through the 2018 season because AU gave him a loan to pay off his buyout from ASU. If he stays with the team through 2018 AU pays it off for him. I think it was around a 130k which is a pretty good bit considering his annual salary is only around 200k.

I get this but Corey has been working with our pitchers and they've been top-notch. If you have that in women's softball you're going to be very good.

She may have been, or maybe currently is. It's not someone you're going to notice if they're missing. Like another poster said, keep it in your pants and you're guaranteed a sweet job making big money. Moron.

For those looking for more message board rumors here's what's going on at 247

Curious if that story is the same NGT & Ross have heard

Very close. I was told her phone was not locked, and some players went through it because they were suspicious.

ETA- I didn't hear anything about ultimatums and such, just that texts were found and several new girls want out.

No one has mastered self sabotage like Auburn athletics

Because Myer had a leadership position over the player which, in sexual harrassment Title IX world = power over and pressure on the subordinate.

Have you not been paying attention to how this works over the last 20 years, dude?

Any male executive/coach/leader who has a sexual relationship with a subordinate female, ESPECIALLY an extra-marital relationship with a huge age difference, is a goddam moron who is inviting HUGE trouble.

yeah heard about the texts but it was a poorly kept secret on the team before any of that. Honestly I had kind of just hoped that girls love to gossip, and all this was was gossip.

I have no clue about how our AD approached it outside of the same speculation you guys have. Seems like their hands would be tied.

Would really kind of love for this to just fade away, for all parties involved especially Auburn University.

Nailed it. I don't get how he thought this was going to turn out in the end. Seriously he was about to have it made, now who the frick is going to ever hire him again?

He's gonna have to go to some d2 school outside the southeast would be my guess. Or start a business teaching softball to younger kids.

Assuming it's true he had an affair with a player, why do New girls want out? Is it a jealousy thing? Is the school/team pressuring them to cover up? Too much drama? Something else?

I hate if true, but seems like if the player is no longer on team (based on 247 link) and Corey is gone it should be over with and team can move on.

Would have been nice to have Corey take over for continuity, but if AU softball continues to thrive and Clint stays through his 2020 contract, we'll be able to find someone just as good if not better.

None of that. I just think they have an issue with their married coach fricking a teammate.

Yeah, I get that and now the coach is gone. Shouldn't be an issue unless daddy Myers is diddling the players.

At least we're not Penn State.

From reading that thread, it sounds like the girls on the team were responsible for this. It sounds like they wanted it to stop. I don't see how this could tear the team apart when they were the ones that were tired of it. It sounds like this will bring them together ever more.

My guess, and only a guess, is that if the players knew what was going on so did Clint. Either that, or he's beyond senile.

I don't know if the older players who play everyday have an issue like the newer girls...maybe not.

I just know of 2 that will not be back next year.
