damn we need Ellitor back.

Ellitor is like that crazy bish that you married because the sex was incredible then, a month later, you know you're just going to have to get a divorce.

Ellitors contributions were fine but he started bitching about his contributions taking too much of his time like we were the problem.

Well in attempt to get this thread back to something less creepy here's a ton of updates from junior day from 247

- Update on Bryant. Apparently he loves hunting so he has gone hunting at least twice possibly 3 times on his OV . Derrick Brown is his player host

- 3* RB Shaun Shivers plans to get back to AU as much as he can. It sounds like he is recruiting hard for us already. Staff said he could be used as a chance of pace guy or speed sweep slot guy

- 4* WR Seth Williams made the visit which is awesome because he was on Bama's junior day list as well and all the CBs on him are for the Tide. Really enjoyed the family vibe and says he talks with Burns a bunch. Sounds like top 4 of AU, Bama, UF & FSU

- 4* RB Asa Martin doesn't have an offer yet but plans on working to earn one. Wants to come camp and says staff plans to visit him this spring. His top group right now appears to be AU, Ole Miss, LSU, Oklahoma & Tennessee. Sounds like he is excited about Chip Lindsey

- 4* OL Tank Jenkins says distance won't play a huge role in his recruitment which stinks for AU but he loves AU & Herb Hand. Hand apparently told him he thinks he can be one of the best ever which seems a bit much but whatever works. Doesn't sound like he has much planned out right now for visits or announcements but right now AU is sitting in good position with him

- 3* DE Andres Fox was offered by AU when he was up there for state title game. Really likes the family atmosphere and has us in his top group with Mississippi State and Penn State. I expect his stock to rise over the cycle

- 4* CB Jalyn Armour-Davis earned his first offer from AU so that helped us win the battle to get him here for junior day. Enjoyed meeting Greg Brown and enjoyed, you guessed it, the family atmosphere

- NR OT John Campbell staying the night. Sounds like he really likes Herb Hand

- 3* DT Coynis Miller had a good visit. Teammates with TD Moultry. Both AU & Bama after him hard. KN says wouldn't be shocked if he landed in our class

- 4* DE Jamarcus Chatman spent most of day with Garner. Says he came to our junior day because we have been showing him the most love. Staff thinks he can play DT or DE

- AU was one of first to offer NR LB Channing Tindall who we are recruiting at Buck. He is from HS Travis Williams was coaching at before landing at AU so is close with him already

- 3* RB Tae Provens enjoyed meeting Chip Lindsey. Plans to visit Ole Miss & Tennessee

- 3* ATH Cam Taylor is being recruited as DB. Liked fact Kevin Steele took time to talk with his parents

Top 2018 targets share what stands out about Auburn after star-studded Junior Day visits (SECCountry)
quote:

4-star WR Jacob Copeland, Pine Forest (Pensacola, Fla.)

“It’s always great talking with (Auburn wide receivers coach Kodi Burns). He speaks to me real, how everything would be if I were to come here … Auburn is definitely a school I’m looking at throughout the rest of it.”

quote:

4-star WR Devonta Jason, Landry-Walker (New Orleans)

“Really the coaches are the reason I came to Auburn. I had a great time meeting with them … Coach Kodi Burns wanted me to get on campus to get a feeling of it. It was great. I’m thankful for the opportunity to get to the state of Alabama. I didn’t expect the great players they have and the way they play true freshmen. I like that about them.”

quote:

4-star CB Jalyn Armour-Davis, St. Paul’s Episcopal (Mobile, Ala.)

“Auburn’s always been one of my top schools. They were the first school to offer me, so that plays a huge role. Every time I come here, it feels like a home. They preach family around here, and it stands out. That’s important. I feel comfortable every time I come here.”

Tons of nice quotes in that article

Alabama commit denies secret Auburn official visit, says he’ll sign with Tide on Wednesday (SECCountry)
quote:

Multiple reports surfaced on Saturday that 4-star Alabama linebacker commitment Markail Benton was taking an official visit to Auburn this weekend; however, he is denying those reports.

Benton, the nation’s No. 7 outside linebacker from Central High School (Phenix City, Ala.), told SEC Country that there was some confusion between him and his father, Chris Lee.

“I was supposed to go to Auburn today, and he (my father) thought I did, but I did not go,” Benton said. “I’m headed to the school because we have a basketball game tonight.”

Central High School is less than an hour away from Auburn, and it’s one of the biggest reasons why the Tigers were considered the favorites to land Benton before he committed to Alabama. Since his commitment to the Crimson Tide this past summer, Benton has not visited any other college.

He has, though, over the past few weeks, try to visit Georgia and Auburn now. He ended up canceling his trip to Georgia and now didn’t follow through with his trip to Auburn. He did take an official visit to Alabama last weekend.

It should be noted that SEC Country’s Auburn recruiting writer Benjamin Wolk has been at the Tigers’ football complex all day on Saturday and did not see Benton on campus.

So, after his desire to visit other schools in January, will Benton still sign with Alabama on National Signing Day this Wednesday?

“Of course,” Benton said.

LOL so either Benton is covering his arse or the leaked news about visit scared him off. Either way I highly doubt we flip him Wednesday after all this

Auburn recruiting: Tigers host star-studded visitors list on Class of 2018’s junior day (SECCountry)
quote:

It’s somewhat pointless to look at team rankings at this time for the 2018 class. For some perspective, Brigham Young is a top-10 class right now. But Auburn is No. 13, which puts the Tigers in fine position moving forward with the upcoming class. There are three commitments in place right now — Gatewood, Shaun Shivers and JUCO Daquan Newkirk.

This weekend’s junior day will go a long way to setting the rest of the foundation.

this was article up before Junior Day. FWIW Justyn Ross did not make it because of basketball game

Hank South (Bama 247) had this to say on reports Benton wasn't there
quote:

Was told he was there by multiple people, with one person seeing him on campus. Wouldn't be surprised if he went and didn't want it publicized.

You can thank JLee for leaking it

Signing Day Preview: Auburn's top needs on special teams (AL.com)
quote:

Auburn's most reliable weapon the last two seasons is returning to the Plains for one more go-around, as kicker Daniel Carlson opted not to declare early for the NFL Draft and instead return for his senior season at Auburn. The two-time Lou Groza Award finalist gives the Tigers continuity and reliability in the kicking game, both on field goals and extra points as well as kickoffs, and he'll have his usual holder, Tyler Stovall, back with him. The two are about as in-sync as a kicker-holder duo can be, and that's nothing but good news for Auburn.

They also return long snapper Ike Powell, giving Auburn all three key pieces to their field goal unit back for another year.

The Tigers do need to replace punter Kevin Phillips, who held the starting job for the last two seasons. The likely replacement is redshirt sophomore Ian Shannon, who saw limited action last year in relief of Phillips.

With the Tigers seemingly set on special teams, this recruiting class won't be relied upon this upcoming season, but it does set the foundation for 2018 and beyond. With Carlson a staple of Auburn's special teams the last three years and this coming season, the Tigers are hoping his bloodline is strong, as the team has a commitment from his younger brother, Anders Carlson, a three-star kicker ranked as the No. 6 kicker in the country. The two will have a year to spend together on the Plains, and Anders will have an opportunity to perfect his craft alongside his brother before likely having the job handed over to him in 2018.

Auburn also has a commitment from long snapper Bill Taylor, a three-star prospect out of Tuscaloosa's American Christian who is ranked as the No. 1 player at his position in the nation.

In-state Alabama linebacker commit officially visiting Auburn (AL.com)
quote:

Central-Phenix City linebacker Markail Benton, a longtime Alabama commit, is on an official visit to Auburn this weekend, AL.com has confirmed through a source.

The 6-foot-1, 235-pound Benton officially visited Alabama last weekend and canceled a visit to Georgia the week before.

Benton's father, Chris Lee, told BamaOnline that Benton still intends to sign with Alabama on Wednesday. Auburn, who is also heavily in the mix for Georgia linebacker Tyler Taylor, is likely looking to add another linebacker to a talented commit group that includes Jackson-Olin's T.D. Moultry, Oxford's Kenney Britt and Chandler Wooten of Kennesaw, Ga.

Benton is a four-star recruit ranked No. 98 nationally in the 247Sports composite rankings.

Auburn is hosting multiple official visitors this weekend. Read about those visitors here.

Alabama is not hosting any official visitors. Offensive line commit Jedrick Wills is officially visiting Kentucky.

5 p.m. EDIT - Benton has told AL.com he's not visiting Auburn and he's on his way to his high school basketball game. Multiple sources have Benton as gone to Auburn this weekend, including BamaMag, TideSports, AuburnSports and Auburn UnderCover.

Benton told AL.com that he plans to sign with Alabama on Wednesday.
