I don't know if it is a definite plan to use him at the Buck. It would be nice to have another LB but we have a decent LB class already. TWill just needs to go all out again next year. Still makes no sense why we wouldn't take Johnson. We seem to have enough room for him this year.

KN says we have been visiting Benton the last 2 weeks and he apparently has some concerns with Bama depth chart. With Taylor trending LSU we brought him on an official. This could be an interesting turn considering many thought he had burned bridges

He is making plans for when Bama withdraws his scholarship offer. I am a bit surprised Gus is letting him back on campus after his comments about our coaching.

Benton's father, Chris Lee, tells BamaOnLine despite the trip to see the Tigers it is "most definitely" Benton's intention to sign with the Crimson Tide on Wednesday.
Last summer, the Phenix City (Ala.) Central linebacker committed to Alabama over Auburn -- the longtime presumed favorite -- and Florida State.
At 6-foot-2, 237 pounds, Benton is rated the No. 7 outside linebacker and the No. 98 overall player in the country, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite.
