I have no problem with Tre Threat not wanting to play in the Spring if he's injured. It's the Spring so there is nothing to be gained by him playing injured. You are not going to get better playing through injury in an exhibition game. It's possible he thinks he has it made and thinks he is better than everyone elae but I don't think that is clearly seen from your story. The only thing I agree with is him being in street clothes then going to dress out just because Boom showed up is poor leadership. Even if he had issues with the coaches he should have dressed out initially as they asked.

There is a difference between hurt and injured, and the coaches knew he was neither.

How vague can you be and still have people pay you for your information?
He is reffering to Antwan possibly moving up his commit time frame again. He is at tOSU this weekend and that concerns me as far as us landing him. He said AU and tOSU are tied and this is the second time in a momth he has made the long trip to Columbus.

You can also find 5'11 Mike LBers in the NFL. A few outliers goes not make a point.

Well I talked to one of his good friends about it that I have known for a couple of years and he said none of it is true. At this point it's a he said, he said so I really don't care unless our coaches think it' an issue.

Gotta adjust your expectations on 17/18 year old kids.

Your story about the spring game isn't flattering but it's also not necessarily shocking either. We're not talking about a kid that is being heralded as the savior to our football program or anything. He's not the first recruit that we have taken on that has his head in his arse and I promise you that he will not be the last.

three first round draft picks from the 2013 & 2014 draft classes are "outliers"? You understand I didn't pick every fricking DT that made the NFL that was similar in his size, right?

Donald & Easley were the only two DTs drafted in the first round in 2014.

Of the 16 DTs taken in the 2014 draft, 7 were 6'2 or shorter.

Of the 15 DTs taken in the 2015 draft, 6 were 6'2 or shorter.

Malcom Brown ring a bell? 6'2 280 coming out of HS, went 1st round this past year.

I was there. It most certainly happen. I asked his position coach, who played at SF and now coaches there and somewhat a protege of mine. He had zero reason to lie, which he wouldn't to me anyway. He was genuinely pissed and disappointed. It has been a problem with him.

Then don't let him date your daughter? Maybe I came in at the wrong part of your rambling but what are you hoping to achieve out of making this information available if you're not going to accept being argued with? You're posting anonymously on an internet message board. Nobody knows who you are and you nor any of your best friends have any legitimacy in this venue.

In TigerProwls defense, I feel as though the coaches wanted him to dress since he is part of the team instead of standing on the sideline in street cloths.

It's all about team perception.

Instead, he disobey their request.

Unfortunately, I understand that to be the case. It is just unflattering like you said. I'd rather not take kids with that type of work ethic and leadership but maybe I'm being too sensitive. I wouldn't give a crap if he was committed somewhere else.

I hear you. But your expectations are a bit unrealistic. Some of our best players in the past 10 years have come into the program with major leadership questions stemming from a wide range of issues they dealt with in high school or other colleges. So far, we have had great success in turning those players into great men. Kids today grow up in a different culture that asks them to do less and less. The result of the declining expectations is a greater variety of immature behavior. I like our chances of helping these kids grow up.

Regardless if your side or Tre's side is truth I reitterate, I don't care until the AU coaches care. If it really happened word will get back to AU. As Jonesy said it does not paint a good picture for the kid but it does happen.

Was just making sure. I know you are very busy and don't keep up with AU targets on a whole as much as you did a few years ago.

I addressed that later in my post you quoted and agreed to that point.

Anyway back to recruiting. At DE Newkirk is committed. We lead w/ Coe and David Marshall, highly likely lead for Marlon Davidson, and may lead for Tony Clayton as well. The plan as of now is 3-4 DEs in the class. Which guy or guys do we miss on?

IMO,i feel like Marshall's ship has sailed unless we miss on at least 2 guys we feel really good about.

And it seems like every year, there is a very highly ranked DE that emerges as a top target late in the process.
