Who do we have at LB committed that's any good... Mcbryde is ok. Darrell williams is solid I guess. I think he will flip to alabama...
What the frick is Alabama selling these kids that play DB? Why aren't they starting their 5 stars they have? They're playing 2 converted WRs at CB for them.

Williams isn't flipping and McBryde will be better than Tre Williams.

Good thing I never follow recruiting... I usually stroll through here every couple of weeks to see if there is any good news... I always walk away wanting to kick a puppy

It's hard for me to understand how we are behind teams like TN and USCe in recruiting.
Star average, national rank in parenthesis
AU 3.6 (9th)
UT 3.46 (14th)
SC 3.43 (18th)

By all accounts McBryde is good. My concern is if Boom wants him. I hope he does.

quote:You forget Chiz's philosophy is to recruit talent but not try to develop it. Based on his philosophy it's more likely the services were probably fairly accurate with rankings and the staff did not develop their potential.
At this point, i really think Chizik and co. paid the recruiting services to overrank our recruits. It is the only thing that makes sense.

I just read their board... They have several spots left. They're apprently going to get the number 1 RB Damien Harris. That will make the number 1 QB, RB, and WR... They said some guys are going to flip and some guy said they will gray shirt some guys.
Did williams really state this?

I was told that the guy whose responsibility was to deal with recruits' film had that portion of his job almost disappear when Chizik took over. Said they started relying on recruiting services as talent scouts.
Boulaware's K/P recruiting strategy straight up was calling the #1, if not interested, call #2 and so on

quote:I follow their recruiting and numbers. They signed the max last year. They have 1 spot left. They can't go past 25. The Bams could be confused like many recruiting fans and not realize signed NLI's count against a team's 25 limit even if the player never enrolls. The only way they have several spots left is if other player flip which Saban has been known to do to sign better recruits late.

quote:Not as explicitly as I did but he did say Monday he was committed to AU and OU was the only other option. It doesn't matter anyway. He never had and likely will never have a committable Bama offer. They are done at LB and even if not there are a few on their board ahead of DW.

Thought they had a ton early enroll?
Posted on 1/2/15 at 8:30 pm to GenesChin
Doesnt matter if you can't back count them.
Since they sign 25 every year, there is no room for back counting.

Idk, I just heard that from someone who would know and it was backed up by some former Tub players who are active in Lettermans club. To be fair though , I've heard that it wasn't unique to Chizik and a trend in CFB

quote:Doesn't matter. Just because a team has room under the 85 to bring kids in for mid year does not mean they have room to count them back under the 25 to the previous class.

On Darrell Williams LINK
quote:
Asked Monday during Under Armour All-America Game week if Alabama was still a concern for Auburn, Williams replied, “As of right now, no.”
Who else could get an official?
“It’s pretty much almost over,” Williams said. "I’ve got Auburn and Oklahoma.
