Seems convoluted to me. But if enough people sat it it's gotta be true right. I have no idea what went on and I doubt you do either.

We do t have to agree about the reasons. But I can still share in the excitement, rigjt?

Some scuttlebutt taken from uga board via JHD on FieldStreet, a guy these guys don't think much of :
quote:

Don't believe all of the Auburn/Roquan Smith hype that the barn writers want you to believe.
I've been paying attention to the kid's visits, rather than our writers. Think we're out in front. Might have company but we're out there.
quote:

D'Andre Walker and Atkinson are NOT a package deal.
Agree. How often do these work out? Ambivalent on DW.
quote:

Jordan Colbert knows he has a spot even though he hasn't been "officially offered"
This one is stupid.
quote:

If today were NSD Kaleb Kim lands at the barn.
This guy obviously knows where these kids are going!
quote:

If today is NSD we'll get one of these - Bailey Sharp/Tyler Carr.
I hope not. Like BS.

I will try to clear this Jovon Robinson deal up for everyone before I get full blown aids.

I am calling all of my resources now...

Yeah, we obviously just decided to not contact or recruit a star RB who already suited up for practice at Auburn previously while every other major program in the South was offering and popping boners over his video-game caliber freshman season in JUCO.

Completely normal recruiting practice there.

So the only explanation is we cut a deal with the Ncaa to stay away from the kid. The Ncaa said OK now we won't make a stink about it and as soon as the kid is close to being able to return to a 4 year college we reach out to the Ncaa and say remember that deal well let's nix it OK. And they said sure thing.

So the other countless other reasons that contact was severed aren't normal but that is?

You'll forgive me for being cynical. Still excited about it though. Whatever the reason it's good stuff.

This is distracting from the conversations I'm sure the rest of the posters want to have in this thread. Sorry for causing ripples.

Those were two completely different "we"s.

The thing that shocks me is the 2 quarterbacks thing. We have Queen on board now and White and Johnson will be in place, 2 seems to be overkill.
Should not shock you at all. The staff always wants 4 quality QBs on scholly at all times. No J-Wall in reality does not count in that equation because he will never get any more meaningful snaps unless two or 3 QBs goes down each of the next 2 years.

So no one really knew when they were speculating that auburn cut a deal with the NCAA to wash our hands clean of jovon?
The old staff most certainly cut a deal with the NCAA. The deal was the old staff agreed to never pursue JR again. Since there is a new staff in place they appealed the agreement and the NCAA let them recruit JR. You are overthinking too much here buddy.

Agreed. It seemed like paysite guys trying to connect dots without any real info.

NCAA info always comes out eventually via FOIA requests... just may take a while.
I don't recall Paysite guys ever talking about it. Hoke may have but Bryan never did. The deal with the NCAA came out through various insiders.

To vague a statement. No clue what you are asking here.

Digging for dirt? Nah quite the opposite. I believe it's less indicate than making a deal with the ncaa appealing that deal and jumping back in with the kid. Im just skeptical of all the dealings and expect there could be other explanations than striking a deal with the ncaa. What does it matter if I don't buy it. I'm surprised an innocent comment stirred so much debate.

Do I know what that other explanation is. Of course not. I guess I should defer to those who aggregate all the information posted here and fall in line?

For whatever caused us to need a deal in the first place if such a deal existed.

Notes per AUC LINK

-Huge Saturday for AU with Trent Thompson
-Mama T is coming and she decides who Big T signs with

-4* OLB Darrell Williams who has AU standing out is a take for AU (looks like it's 1st come 1st serve with 4 or 5 kids for 2 LB spots in this class)
-Staff can see DW at LB or Star with his versatility

-Commit Atkinson and teammate D'Andre Walker said all along they would likely play together but backed off on that recently
-AU staff likes their chances of getting Walker anyway

-Staff getting good feedback from 5* RB Damien Harris
-Plans to visit at some point
