I had actually forgotten about what happened to Mack. Forgot he was the one.

Thanks for pointing that out. Best wishes to him. Him moving on successfully is more important than the scholly and I would hope he is still receiving academic support or even keeps the scholly and the spot if he is not otherwise receiving some sort of support.

He's on a medical scholarship now.. finishing his degree with financial support.

Ah good deal. Also, an appropriate use of the medical scholarship option.

I'm glad he got the medical scholarship and is continuing his degree

I didn't want to ruin the fap fest but let's just keep things in perspective. We sell kids on being a family so let's maintain that attitude even after they're no longer playing (unless their last name ends with Ramsey)

Barton Simmons ?@bartonsimmons Just got off the phone with Jordan Wilkins. The 4-star RB committed to Ole Miss officially tonight. @Rebels247 will have more...

Takes Barber's spot?

I'd trade Barber for Wilkins any day of the week.

Was Mack on scolly, and if so, does him leaving allow us to sign an extra player Wednesday?
Whether on scholly or not he has not been listed on the 85 man roster for a while so it does not open up a spot.

Agreed. I understand Barber played behind one of the better offensive lines in Georgia, but his size, balance, and strength are pretty uncommon.

I'd take him over Wilkins solely for the fact Wilkins is one helmet or shoulder pad to the leg away from career ending surgery.

ETA: OM fans on the recruiting board conceding Barber to AU now that Wilkins has committed.

That's a good point as well. He has plenty of potential, but I think (think) Barber is more of a sure thing. And as low as we are on numbers at that position right now that's what we need.

Can't this basically be said for every player? His broken leg, which was more distal than proximal, wasn't all that serious. He bounced back pretty well. Just needs time to heal.

He's more susceptible to another injury at the location of the break than a normal athlete who hasn't had to have surgery on his leg. I have read where he bounced back well but it's hard to really say until you see the kid playing in pads.

FWIW BM said Ford is in Auburn and that Cam Toney was just trying to keep it under wraps.

I don't think it matters. Not sure why Toney and Ford want that not out.

I don't either, but clearly they don't want it out for a reason.

That's all I'm saying
