What is the best plan for a spring training trip?

So the Braves have messed up my 6 year annual trip to ST. Orlando was incredibly easy to plan where now we have a place in the middle of nowhere.
I don’t know anything about this part of Florida. Is there a better place to stay? North Port has nothing and siesta key is the closest place I know.
Looking for bars/ restaurants that isn’t too far from the field. Obviously the beach seems the best place to be.

There isnt much. Everything is still in construction, so the hotels/food wont be around until next year. Your best bet is Port Charlotte, which is about 10 miles south. Farther out, you have Sarasota to the north and Ft Myers to the south.
Im trying to figure out if I am heading down this year or not. If I do, Im probably doing the airbnb.

Figuring whether to pull the trigger on this year. This is much harder to plan and further of a drive.

Im legit 50/50 right now and I need to buy a plane ticket soon if I decide to go. Southwest has some good prices right now. Rental cars are just a crap ton more in Tampa than Orlando. With the discount I get, I got the second smallest car for just under $200 for 4 days last year. The cheapest car at the Tampa airport for 4 days is over $300 right now.

Imagine a minor league setting with all the players you want to see.
It's normally my wife and my kick off to spring and bringing out the spring clothes and sitting on the grass watching baseball. It has really been a great experience. Things are much different this year with the move though.

Could definitely see tying it in with a spring vacation. Honestly, it's probably better they moved. The last idea of a vacation in my mind is them parks in central Florida.
May revisit Lido Key or something like that!

Convenience wise, Orlando is hard to beat. It was a baseball centric trip with tons of options of where to stay. We never went to the parks other than the baseball park.
North Port is literally the opposite. No where to stay, you need to drive 45 mins to the nearest cool spot. A drive from atlanta lands at 8.5 hours. If you are incorporating it into a beach vacation, its great. If your primary purpose was to take in baseball and the beach be second, its not a good change.

Spring Training is the greatest.
Have you ever wanted to go watch the Braves but you didnt want to deal with 35k people, and the pains of getting in and out of stadiums?
Have you/your kid ever wanted to get that autograph from Acuna but there wasnt any access in SunTrust, and he only signed for 5 people? Come to Spring Training. Players are laid back. Crowds are much smaller, and there is access. More than likely, you will be face to face with one of Acuna, Albies, Dansby, etc. at least once a day.
Do you miss baseball and dont want to wait two more months?
Last year, I spent 4 days at Disney. There was one off day, one road game, and two home games, one of which I didnt even go into. Pro tip-Non day games, or road games are the best days to have access to players and be one of few people watching players. It is only practice, but if you love watching Ron Washington hit grounders to Ozzie for 10 minutes, and then follow it up with 10 mins for Charlie. This is for you. Plus my favorite part of spring training is the minor leaguers. I can spend hours watching them practice, or play simulated games. I dont know how the access will be at the new facility, but at Disney, I was walking next to Drew Waters for a good 100 yards because the fields are like a local sports park. 4 fields all together. You have to walk past everyone.
I could go on and on about spring training. Its one of my most favorite things in the world. Every baseball fan should experience it at least once.

I usually park across the interstate at the Galleria, and get home in 15 minutes. It's not an issue.

I'm in my late 20s, so, no.

I buy this. I also long for warm weather.
Been to a few spring training games. Usually tie it into a beach vacation. I've usually seen the Braves on the "road" though. I hate Central Florida with a smashing passion, so, usually bypass it. Interested to get reviews about the ballpark beaches at CoolToday. If they aren't bad, may make a plan to go down next year.
