awww, you have a problem with letting him take another job rather than firing him?

Because it is portal season? SO, you want him to stay to recruit prior to being fired, fired first, what exactly? I am confused.

We want him gone so hitters know a trash coach isn’t going to be the one guiding him. Just like you don’t keep a bad linebacker coach around when you are recruiting linebackers.

I don't think the "no aspirations to take the next step" is quite fair. He got robbed from a 2018 title thanks to something I don't really blame him for. But like everyone else, he's not perfect, and it's plain to see that his approach isn't working. You can't be ranked in the top five all year for four straight years, and not make it out of your own ball park during the post season three of the four times. We literally don't ever lose home series, unless it's in our own Regional. The fact that we usually have the host advantage while maintaining an excellent home record means the CWS shouldn't be eluding us so much. Arkansas in baseball can afford to have that kind of attitude, as wrong as it feels demanding Elite Eights and playoff appearances in basketball ans football. Although somewhat frequent Elite Eights should be a thing for us. Baseball is a whole different animal.

And of course, that's because of DVH. It's a monster he created. But we could have any chump change motherfricker in charge to be upset in Regionals. The fact that it keeps happening to a coach as good as DVH means people just laugh that much harder when we fail in a spectacular way.

I think the spark that was lit happened with the wreck in April of 2012. We haven’t been right since. I grew up at least with us being feared or not wanted to be played in most sports year in year out and I’m a late Gen X or early Millenial(think it’s close with those two generations). It’s sad though because when I was kid and even in college we had way way more of a culture of ferocity and many mistakes were made along the way but we’re just at a point of apathy/butthurt or happy with the proceeds depending on whether or how you benefit or not.

I can’t remember one hitter since the pandemic screwed us.
