I have been wondering the same thing after reading the excerpts from his resignation letter in the news. It was almost as if he was throwing the finger to the university.
But some say he is making his way towards a senate run so who knows.

Sounds like he is someone one who is use to being able to throw his weight around and get what he wants, likely the first time in his life where he was in a setting where he had piers who have had the same privileged lives, butted heads, couldn't take it, didn't need it, got mad, quit.

He got tried of all the Yankee carpet baggers but what really happened is his 1.3ish million dollar donation that was to go to disadvantaged children planning their education at the University went instead to the miscellaneous fund to pay off some people over the Petrino scandal. It went to something other than what it was suppose to go towards and it pissed him off. The Petrino thing is just my theory.

What do you know HA is wrong as usual, he wanted to resign over a year ago before the Petrino thing went down and was talked into staying on during the transition of some new administration in the UofA system.

this is basically what I heard. He's alos mad b/c they're spending so much money on the football program and not spreading it around
