Jerry's the one who got Chad hired, just fyi for those who don't know how this program really works. Chad was Jerry's guy. A lot of people in the program had skepticism of Chad, and weren't on board with the hire, but Jerry had full faith and confidence that Morris was the guy. He chose to hire the most underqualified HC in the history of our program, not the board. This is his mess. The flip side is that Jerry's paying for the buyout. Jerry has contributed monumental amounts of money to RF & the UofA and should be part of the decesion making but this is not his baby, we are not the Arkansas Cowboys, and the board has to make that known to him with this hire. This is not just his decesion and everyone needs to come to a consensus on who the next head coach will be. That is all.

Just like basketball, this is Yuracheks hire to make. He has backing of powers to get the right man.
Last time was a cluster.
1. You don't let a woman hire a football coach
2. You don't hire a football coach without an established AD. Yurachek is very much trusted to make a good hire.

Jerry Jones deserves a lot of blame for that hire, but he wasn't the only one that wanted us to hire him.

From my understanding there were some other BoT members who also wanted to go with Morris but not a majority. Jerry agreed to throw down basically all the money and at that point they let him steer the ship, so it ultimately falls back to him.

That wasn't the reasoning. You're not thinking clearly if you believe that any HC at Arkansas wouldn't have offered JSJ. Nick Saban could be coaching Arkansas and he still would've given JSJ a scholarship. The Chad Morris hire had nothing to do with his grandson. Chad has a personal relationship with Jerry, Jerry believed he was the right guy for the job, and threw down the money to have it his way. JSJ getting a scholarship offer was a forgone conclusion no matter who was our HC.
