Despite the record similarities, we haven't really faced anyone of substance aside from Stanford. Very different from last year, where we knew coming away from the opening series in Arlington that we had a really good team after a clean sweep of 3 top 10 teams.
This year's team feels like the Yankee teams of the last several years: heavy on offensive talent, high strikeout numbers, over-reliance on the long ball, and very iffy pitching. I think our bats will come around, but the lack of reliable arms on this team is a concern.
Still a fairly small sample size, but there are an unnerving number of question marks with this squad.

Side note, if anyone is heading to Baum for one of the UK games this weekend, can you check to see if they've gotten their Nike gear in yet?
Been trying to get a couple of the Nike Dri-Fit hats the players wear (preferably digital camo and anthrocite), and keep hearing they’re out due to supply chain issues and don’t know when they’ll be in.
I got one about a year or so ago and it’s my favorite hat, and have been trying to get another plus one for my kid. I’ve gone to the end of the internet and they’re out of stock everywhere. I’ve looked for months on eBay, Poshmark and FB marketplace and haven’t seen any.

I’ve not seen any as of yet. Sort of annoying. I would like the anthracite myself. I have the other three in your pic but the yellow one is just a dust collector. Wanted anthracite last year but they sold out damn quick.

Yes, ran into the wall during pregame for Illinois-Chicago hurting his shoulder. This came right after his big breakout at the plate against Southeastern Louisiana on March 5th.
