There are half a million people in the NWA metro alone. The Fort Smith metro an hour away brings even more. We have enough fans within an hour drive to fill that stadium to the brim every week. But no one wants to pay that much money on a regular basis anymore, and no one especially wants to do it to see a shite product. I get that there are only 12 football games a year, so they have to maximize profit and make an event out of it a little bit. But it's gotten to the point of being ridiculous.
The basketball team just went to the Elite Eight and lost to the national champions, while playing them closer than anyone else in the tournament. The baseball team is #1 and dominating in historic fashion with Regionals about to start. Neither of these appear to be flashes in the pan. Hog fans have competitive, major sports from November through June. We don't have to care about a shitty football product that the University itself doesn't even care about anymore. Want people to show up? Drop the prices to match the product, or elevate the product to match the prices.
