Thought I would post a full day's routine in case anyone wanted/needed ideas! This was today. Today was a core focus day.

short 5 or 10 minute run
*the following is done in succession w/o a break
200 bicycle crunches
35 sit ups
75 full crunches
150 bicycle crunches
35 sit ups
35 sit ups
75 full crunches
40 glute kicks
35 back leg lifts
40 glute lifts
40 glute lifts
25 back leg lifts
35 glute lifts
25 back leg lifts
75 full crunches
*break
Run again (about 5 minutes)
100 bicycle crunches
30 back leg lifts
weight ball...doing the lift up to the side and down opposite into a crunch. 15 each side (these suck!)
35 glute lifts
35 baby burpees (legs spread when going out)
35 baby burpees (legs straight when going out)

You ever done burp-ups? The added pull up tires the shite out of me.

Yep! We do those, too. Just not as often. They kick my arse!! Not a big fan.

I had trouble gaining weight until I hit 33. Just get old like me. You'll gain

She's right tho'. Metabolism will be a swift kick in the junk when it turns against you. If you're trying to gain there's only one way, increase caloric intake. It will either manifest itself as increased muscle mass or fat.

What are some of the motivational techniques you guys use to push a little extra out of yourselves?

I just accepted a position that will be a win/win/win for me and let me come back home to NWA and make the kind of money I was able to make in Cali and never hope to get to in Oklahoma. So getting out of Oklahoma should break this dark cloud over my soul, looking forward to running the hills like I used to.

When I ran regularly I found when I got tired and wanted to slow down I would pick a roadsign or electric pole and just try to make it there, then pick another once I reached it. I also found shouting out phrases like "My body is strong. My mind is strong. My God is strong." gave me a boost to keep going when I was at the point of stopping.

For lifting when it gets repetitive and you're not seeing gains as fast as you want and it seems like you're not getting anywhere, I would add up all the weight and multiply by the reps and I'd come out of a workout having lifted over 35,000lbs and it gave me a mental edge that I was a beast.

Keep in mind I'm a female so my motivational techniques might not be worth a shite to you.

For me it's about actually seeing results and once I get there...i have to document it. Not kidding. I do progress pics. I just did my latest last night of before/after. Actually seeing results REALLY motivates me to work hard and keep going. Plus, I NEED motivation and support from other people who are working out as well. I'm part of a fitness group on facebook and it helps all of us tremendously.

Plus, I have lots of goal body pics. Once I started seeing changes of my own body that mirrored my goal pics....bam. That was the boost I needed. If you follow me on twitter you can see two of my goal pis, to give you and idea. They have motivational stuff on them. (hoginthesw)

idk..it's much much more than just working out. It's do whatever you gotta do to keep pushing yourself no matter how dumb it is....including goal/motivation pics.

oh, and sacrificing other parts of your life that don't support the healthier lifestyle. My love of beer had to be put on serious hold. beer on occasion, but mostly vodka/club soda for me now.

I'm 6'2". Some sources say I need to be between 172 lbs - 197 lbs. Not sure that is realistic unless I get some devestating sickness. I would love to be at 205 lbs. Not sure I'll see it.

Biggest goal is to feel good, be able to stay active with the kids (and we have very active, outdoors, multi-sport athletic kdis).

Way to go, SLC

I'm having a hell of a time this week with food. It's been one of those weeks that I crave horrible food. It's been a bitch driving by so many wing/beer places.
