Just did that one last night. frickin sucks.

Insanity is confusing to me. It always produces good results but I hate this first few weeks. I don't seem to really start losing any actual weight until week 4. in fact, I'm up 2 lbs as of this morning and I've been sticking to about 1800 cal/day after exercise. eating lots of protein, so hoping it's at least a little bit muscle building.

nice definition in my abs, though. lower half

My abs (and most, I'd guess) are the opposite. Decent def up top, less so on the lower half.

Interesting. It's like mine are working their way up. Most definition is at the bottom

Didn't work out yesterday.

Back on the wagon today with chest, tris, and abs.

Describe what your sets are please. You always tell us the muscle groups but I'm curious what specific exercises you are doing. If you don't mind, of course.

Chest: dumbbell flies, bench, "air cables" (I pretend I'm doing cable crossovers, but I'm just flexing b/c I don't have the proper equipment in my garage )

Back/bis: pull-ups (with a dumbbell in a baby bjorn ), curls

Abs: I've got a wii fit plus routine o do for that.

Traps: military press w dumbbells, shrugs

Legs: squats or bike ride

I'm cheap and I don't have a spotter, so I have to be creative. I'll probably change things up come Feb, too.

I like the military press for delts, and secondary for traps. I've recently (about 2 months ago) incorporated the upright row and have had some pretty good gains, but you have to be careful because they can cause damage to the rotator cuff if done incorrectly. Higher reps, lower weight is the way to go.

On legs I use squats and lunges. When done correctly lunges use every muscle in the lower body, very good for athletic training.

I'm sure you're aware of these, but I wanted to mention it because they're easy to incorporate (and cheap), and some other people reading may not be aware.

I hate lunges; surely b/c they're a workout. I'll probably throw them in next month. Thanks for the suggestions.

Yeah, most people do. They can be torturous.

I'm so jealous of you guys getting to work your upper body. I can't ever do pull ups or push ups bc my doctor won't let me, but damn!! It's depressing how fast you lose all tone and definition and then cant do anything about it bc Of taking forever to heal! My main goal in 2013 is to stay injury free. Getting old just blows.

I am terrible at pullups but really good at pushups. I guess my lats are underdeveloped. Well, they are... everything is.

I have pullups as part of my back/bi routine, but I am lucky to do three sets of three. I can do pushups all day... I'll do an entire chest/tris workout and still do six high-rep sets of pushups (wide and close hands) on top of it. I don't exactly take it easy in my chest/tris workouts, either.

I've always been good at pull-ups.

Also, abs, legs and traps done for today, and I forgot to post that I did abs yesterday.

Unfortunately no...inconsistent workouts and too many carbs taking their toll. I am moving at work quite a bit these days, but the availability of baked goods in the break room more than offsets that.

Time to buckle down...need to get in a really good workout on Saturday, Super Bowl party on Sunday, then back on track!

sort of. I'm not trying to lose weight so mine is a bit different.

I have lost the fat around my hips and my stomach so far (YES!)I'm getting that oval toned look finally to my mid section, I have abs showing up in the lower section (you gotta be close up but they are there damnit. ), my arse is MUCH improved and my legs have always been pretty tone, but they are stronger. not sure it shows with the yet, but i feel it.

i keep progression pics so I can track the changes , but obviously I can't show that here. You're just gonna have to believe me.

work out this morning sucked. wind was brutal and i was sick to my stomach. I couldn't do the 3rd run b/c of my stomach so he made me do a ton of level 1 push ups (i can do push ups now! yay!) to make up for being such a puss with the running.
