Drink is in his first year as a HC and was playing for a conference championship today. If he wanted to make a move, he would surely want absolutely no word to be leaked about it prior to the game today. That would be a huge stain on his early career.

Harsin has Boise St. blood running through his veins. He also would forbid any leakage prior to his championship game today, if he even would engage in negotiations prior to the game.

Looking at resumes and how each coach would "fit," I'm guessing HY's list was something like:

1 or 2. Kiffin
1 or 2. Harsin
3. Drink

We may have given Kiffin first crack since he was the only one willing to play ball prior to today's games. Or maybe we had Harsin locked up all along but to keep it covered HY let our media run with Kiffin for as long as they could.

Maybe we just had a strong verbal from Harsin, and felt like we could almost surely get Drink if Harsin backed out.

If it was Kiffin or bust, we could have and would have made Ole Miss pay a lot more. If Harsin and Drink weren't two of our top targets, word would be leaking this afternoon that Leach was on a plane to Fayetteville. I just refuse to believe that we couldn't get Leach if we wanted him. The only candidates that make sense to me to take over Leach are the three named here plus Norvell.

If Harsin is leaving Boise, I think he comes here and Mizzou gets Drink. If Harsin stays, Drink comes to Fayetteville.

That's my stupid guess.
