Impossible. Chavis doesn’t recruit and is washed up as a DC

I've said repeatedly that I don't know if his reputation as a shitty, lazy recruiter is accurate or not. The scrutiny comes from the glowing terms and attributes our new coach described for whomever was going to be our next DC.

I guess the people who have a different opinion of the guy who gets the job automatically becomes the enemy. I don't wish for Chavis' failure. I'm just looking for evidence of whether my opinion of the guy is right or wrong.

So are you saying that Chavis wasn't the best available?

Would we take Brule and Foucha? Aren’t they both safeties?

No your opinion is that of someone who lives in a social media/message board bubble. He’s still a name that carries weight (no pun intended) in the college football world. That still matters, especially in recruiting, now we see if it translates on the field

Brule said yesterday that we’re recruiting him as an OLB so I’m guessing we’d take both.

How can anyone know that? Are you saying that the best available is necessarily the most accomplished, most experienced? If that were the case, any DC search would simply be a review of who has coach the longest, and achieved the most, right?

There are many other factors that would play a part in identifying the best available, not the least of which are factors that our own coach laid out before Chavis was hired. Factors that almost everyone agreed prior to his being hired, were weaknesses of John Chavis, which were openly discussed here and elsewhere.

So then once he gets the job, a fan automatically becomes a hater for discussing or even mentioning those same factors?

I think Morris is going to put an emphasis on speed and stamina. Our LBs will be like 215-220 but will be able to run for days.

3 star but still very talented and i like his size

The recruiting rankers got this one wrong. Dude is a solid 4.

They should talk to coaches more and not go with their gut.

Good! I hope they offer him a scholly, 100K, and a blowjob from 3 cheerleaders per week, and he tells them hell no, he would never do that to his friend and mentor, John Chavis.

IF he flips the same "fans" who bitched about him being a low star no offer recruit will be acting like he was a can't miss all american and our class is falling apart.
