I didn't expect us to light up 2014 because of that exact situation. I was looking for a small flurry of offers and commits around the camps because the coaches said they preferred to offer in person and give a personal touch.
I was thinking RS being in DFW and Smith's DFW connection pulling us in at least 2 metroplex commits. I was looking for 1-2 S. Florida commits but realistically those likely won't happen for us until their Sr. seasons when we can pay for their trip to campus.
I was thinking Lamin and Eluemanor could be guys we wrapped up before they hit nationally and the power programs wowed them.
I was thinking a couple in state guys that sure look to be able to play at the SEC level would get offered since Coach B said if there are any in state guys that can play at a championship level we need them to stay home. He was basically telling the HS coaches to quit pushing their kids to Gus, Saban, and Gundy.
Jarvis Cooper needs to be a Razorback, Ota needs to be a Razorback, the OL from NLR, Jackson and Murray all 3 and Kavin Alexander should get hard hard looks. I don't want to be back to Hootie-era recruiting where if you're all conference in the 3A Central and have some size you're getting a scholly, but maybe some of these borderline kids can be convinced to walk on and take an academic scholly.
I'm sure the coaches stay in touch with the guys they might want on the hill. When you combine our lazy recruiting reporters with a staff that isn't big on offering every sum bitch that weighs 200 lbs and runs under 5.0 in the 400 it can appear that there isn't a lot of activity especially when you combine it with all the commits the other newbs are locking up. I know the newb coaches are doing it to drum up support and protect their new jobs.
Our guy isn't exactly a rook at this game, maybe his plan will be the superior one, as we all said the Petrino thing cost us 2 recruiting classes because of how early the cycles begin now.

What I think the mouth breathers forget is that they didn't start recruiting those guys in December, all the staff had been recruiting them at their previous jobs for at least a year. I guess this why they are like "errr my gawdz its June and we suck in the recrootin rankins, whats the deal?".
Well yeah with the exception of Denver Kirkland. The last class didn't prove we could nab anyone from anywhere or anything like that but it proved we have guys on this staff who can recruit because they followed them here despite changing jobs.

Kevin Shorter is visiting again this weekend. DJ Dean is moving in today and he is with him.

Cooper is ours if we offer. Unless Bama offers, then we need to make sure we offer before Bama.

Cooper will probably get an offer but they need to figure out where to play him first. They just brought in Chris Jones to play FB going forward so they probably need to find a spot for him on defense.
Ota just picked the wrong year to graduate. Any other year and he would probably already be a Hog. However he is definitely not going to jump ahead of Frazier, Lamin, Evans and in my opinion Cerenord in this particular class. Perhaps if we whiff on three of those then they will circle back around.
Murray skipped camp plain and simple. Its his own fault that he doesn't have an offer.
We're only taking two CB's with one of those spots most likely going to Raymond Wingo. The staff probably wants to see more of him in action before giving the other spot to a guy that is 5'7/5'8. His height is a concern as WR's keep getting bigger and bigger.
Jackson wants to play QB first and that obviously isn't happening at Arkansas. Perhaps if he changes his mind then the staff will revisit him but as of now he hasn't and isn't scheduled to come to any of our camps.
Parker is in a tough situation because we already have Charpentier and Smothers on campus that could play Center next year and then we lead for Zach Rogers in the '15 class whom we project as a center. We just don't have a really pressing need for a center unless we miss on our other targets on the outside.

Have been saying he is way underrated.

I don't think that's going to be much of a problem soon. I saw that he was one of the favorites to win the SPARQ competition at the Opening. If he wasn't on all of D1-DII's radar already.
I think if coaches are holding his size against him then it's a bit ridiculous if the kid can actually go out and make plays. I figured TM7's impact would have made a lot of coaches adjust their stance on undersized players. We've had a lot of athletic freaks that were huge and measured off the charts but couldn't play a lick of sound football. If Alexander is a real deal player and is an athletic freak to boot, you want a guy like that on your roster, he'll contribute in some way on game days.

Kavin Alexander ran a 4.49 40 and 4.04 shuttle.
Not bad but not really the type of numbers he needs to put up.
Also everyone points to a handful of guys at his same height and say well they did it so can he but neglect to mention how many guys fail. That is like saying Burlsworth was an AA as a walk on so every walk on will do the same.
I really think the kid would be better off if he projected himself as a slot receiver instead of as a CB.

How did he do for the rest of the combine? Did he shite the bed? I haven't heard one thing about him since he was the favorite yesterday.

It just started today. So far those are the only results I've seen for him.

They had the whole combine. He should have his whole sparq score. He must have just sucked.

We say it. We intend to. But goshdarnit that pigskin crack has us by the short and curlies. We're in the throws of addiction, all of us.
