You laugh but I did see a claim of nepotism in regards to the Allen brothers and Mitchell on another board recently.

A couple new DLine offers out.
Abu Lamin - Massive JC DT out of Fort Scott CC.
Taylor Stallworth - DT from Mobile
Grant Blankenship - DE from the Dallas area
Looks like we have started moving on to our 2nd wave of offers to go out. This is when I expected Ota to get his but they are still after other guys. He may end up not getting one.

Former Texas commitment and running back Daniel Gresham said he's considering Arkansas along with Tennessee, Miami, Florida State, Alabama, Louisville, Ole Miss and Auburn after recently rescinding his pledge to the Longhorns. He said he's been talking to Hogs running backs coach Joel Thomas the last few days and is looking forward to him visiting his school next week.
He visited for the 2011 Tennessee game and when Joe Adams had that great punt return. The wild game atmosphere impressed him.
Gresham, 5-10, 228 pounds of Fort Worth All Saints Episcopal rushed 86 times for 979 yards and 18 touchdowns in 10 games last year. He knows of Coach Bret Bielema' track record with running backs and that helps his interest in the Hogs. He plans to narrow his list to five schools soon.

I doubt we have a great chance at the moment. But who knows what could happen when he sees Kiero blows some guys up this year. He'll be a beast of a fullback.

Richard is the only person I've seen even mention Arkansas. No one else gives us a shot. Would love to have the guy but would be shocked if we get a visit.

The 247 guys have an article about him as well. According to them we on the "list" of teams he is considering. He is going to narrow that down to 5 in the coming weeks and then visit them all. After that he will make his decision.

We need to get him locked up with a quickness as the internet recruiters will pounce soon.

Won't lie, I'd like to see a few commits by the end of this spring eval period. We'll be behind if we go into summer camps with just 4 commits.
I'm not a fan of early offers and commits but it's what you gotta do when James Franklin is offering 6th graders.

I'm not a real big fan of how thy handled recruiting during spring practice. It seemed like they basically just put it on hold for the five weeks for the most part. I know they did it so they could put all their focus on their new team. That's great and all but it's really put us behind the gun on a lot of prospects.

I agree with Bielema's personal approach, but we also know how bigtime the SEC is and the bright lights, huge crowds, and showering the love really resonates with these frickers that we'll devote way too much of the free time in our lives to.
I want a Big Hawg weekend, just a 3 day Razorback blowout for the fans to show all the support and love they can, and I want SunHog to plan it.
The Fayetteville A&P commish just gave 30K for a new Fayetteville Roots Festival. I can plan a spring weekend festie, sell sponsorships and vendors, make it a spring alumni homecoming, pair up a huge basketball game, bring in an enormous stage act, have some hip hop shows in the local bars that night, bus in whores from Dallas, Memphis, Houston, ATL, San Antonio for the hispanic flavor.
Have a NIKE combine in the morning, a chance meet and greet with ALL of the former hog greats that had an NFL career, maybe these Razorback greats just happened to be in town for a memorabilia show and recruits ran into them at a restaurant on Dickson or something, along with whatever celebs the recruits are digging at the moment.
I make it no secret I'd support us having a massive slush fund, it's proven to work and also proven that the NCAA won't do dick about it.

Agreed. Richard and Dudley both said on the radio this week that they want to be at 10 - 14 commits by the end of the summer. Then just fill out the remaining spots with visits during the season and the big weekends leading up to NSD. They have a lot of work to do. I don't even know if we have 6-10 guys scheduled to visit us this summer.
I will be honest. For this to be some sort of all star recruiting staff I've been disappointed so far. I guess all that matters is where we sit come February.

The only guys that I could possibly see committing in the next couple of months are:
Jarvis Cooper
Deandre Murray
Abu Lamin
Sione Palelei
Kevin Shorter
None of the bottom three are a lock however and the first two have to get offers first.
I said this same thing on another board and got roasted. I've been extremely let down so far this cycle after the way they finished so strong with the last class. Hopefully they can still turn it around but they have a lot of ground to make up this summer.

Well looks like Rafe is looking around.
Insider Notes - JC Shurburtt
For those that don't have access here is what he has to say as far as Rafe is concerned.
"-At this point, four-star Arkansas quarterback commit Rafe Peavey (Bolivar, Mo.) remains committed to the Razorbacks, but behind the scenes, the 6-foot-2, 212-pounder still is communicating with other coaching staffs. There are no signs of an imminent de-commitment, but it still would not totally surprise if he ended up elsewhere."
