we need talent on that side of the ball but I didn't see another back with that combo speed and power out there playing for us. Our running game with him next year will be sick.

Depth wise we should be ok taking on 1 rb this year.

What happened to him? He got a scholly in the spring didn't he?

fwiw, the 2015 class of RB's in state will be overlooked but there are two studs that we need to figure some way to get them in a hog uniform.

Dancy at JC, and Burton at Glen Rose are football players bar none. Then add in the kid in Southern Missouri and hopefully Coach Thomas actually pulls a flippin' recruit for once or Pittman finds a RB while he's signing 4star OL.

No scholarship for Wynn. He transferred to some D2 school. Jackson St perhaps. I can't remember the exact one.

Otis actually had a blurb on Dancy tonight. He says his top 4 are Arkansas, Auburn, Okie St and Mizzou in no particular order. He doesn't have offers from any of the four however.

Oh, he has an order and Auburn is going to be the team to beat if they offer.

It's because 7A football is considered the elite in this state. It's a shame.

Those small school kids can play, yet they don't get any attention until late in the process. This usually means it's too late.

This is my issue with not offering a kid until he comes to camp....frick that....from Little Rock down south, there is true poverty. Those folks can't afford to send a kid to camp, pay for transportation, etc.

Camp is a lazybones excuse IMO. Go find these kids. They're there.

How many do we have to lose out of South Arkansas? For years Warren sent kids to Tennessee. Strong sent a freshman all American RB to La Tech. Junction City sent an NFL starting safety to ULM. Bearden has a starting Dlinemen at Oklahoma State. If we hadn't stumbled upon Alan Turner and offering him, in order not to lose Byran Jones, we likely wouldn't have the best safety on our roster now.

Maybe I'm on my soap box....but it's a staffs job to go see these kids, evaluate them, etc. yet, some key targets in state are being offered before we even offer. Come to camp and get an offer? Why should they?

I'm with ya. We don't have the luxury to slow play the best kids in state.

I've seen Pettway's video. I've seen Dancy. I've seen the Lowery kid from Smackover we are currently slow playing while he gets offers in from other schools....These guys are D1 players...

It's not rocket surgery....If I'm an 18 year old kid, thinking I have the world at my feet, I'm the BMOC at my high school...bitches beat each other up just to get with me...Do you really think I'm going to choose a school that wouldn't offer me until they had a cattle live auction in the heat of the summer, or the school who thought enough of me to offer early?

It's pretty simple...

Email Chris Hauser, maybe they haven't considered the fact that some kids, especially those from south Arkansas, can't make the trip. The guys on our football staff aren't from Arkansas, I wouldn't be surprised if they don't understand how things are.

Andrew Mike update from Turberville:

R Turbeville 16463 posts

Talked to Andrew tonight, and he updated me on his visit plans. He and his dad are set to arrive in Fayetteville around 4 p.m. on Friday for his OV. He'll be at Florida the following weekend, and is in the process of setting up a visit with OU. He doesn't have anything in mind for his fifth OV yet. Hogs, Gators, Sooners, Washington, Arizona and Stanford appear to be the main interests. He canceled a visit to Vandy after the coaching change, but he's interested in seeing what direction the Commodores go. Penn State has also told him they're interested.
