Well they didn’t have a defense today so…

Sometimes you have to get knocked off your high horse to learn a lesson.

They have a defensive genius with an office right there on campus. Questions is will they use that resource to try and fix the defense??

Can players rebound? Can the coaches get it together?

Yes.

Game was surprising, but not shocking. A lot of opportunity to learn and grow after being humbled.

The mark of good coaching and team leadership is fully embracing the next game up mentality. They weren't well prepared for a Vandy team that had played up to good competition a couple of times already. Likely got caught believing their own hype, and it played out on the field.

Vandy just continued to work Bama. No adjustments and no leaders emerged. Just kept waiting for them to snap out of it, but it didn't happen.

Everything is still ahead for Bama. Hopefully this is a wakeup call that refocuses all on what they need to do.

All credit to Vandy. Huge win for them. Well earned and well deserved.

But prepping for the pistol offense and the option is something probably nobody on that staff was equipped for. They don’t see it, don’t know anything about it. I guarantee you our players don’t see it and you can’t emulate it in practice

A lot of high schools run a similar offense. These guys have been seeing this stuff since middle/high school days.
