No. 19/20 Alabama Sweeps Men’s and Women’s SEC Weekly Swimming Honors
The Crimson Tide captured the male and female Southeastern Conference Swimmer of the Week as well as the male and female Freshman of the Week
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The No. 19/20 Alabama men's and women's swimming teams swept the Southeastern Conference Swimmer of the Week and Freshman of the Week honors, the league office announced Tuesday.
Kaique Alves and Mackenzie Brandt won the men's and women's SEC Swimmer of the Week honors after pacing the Crimson Tide to a dominate win over Missouri. Tommy Hagar and Jada Scott secured both Freshman of the Week honors for the Tide, after a strong showing in their second-ever collegiate meet.
The Alabama men's team posted a 180-118 victory over Missouri while the women's team defeated the Tigers 212-88.

The Alabama men's and women's cross country squads begin postseason racing Friday as the Crimson Tide gets set to compete at the Southeastern Conference Championships. The annual conference meet will be aired on the SEC Network.
The No. 22-ranked UA men will start their 8,000-meter race at 9:08 a.m. CT across the links of the Charwood Golf Club. The No. 13-ranked UA women will close the meet at 9:50 a.m. with their 6,000-meter race.
Alabama enters the meet as the reigning champion after sweeping both the men's and women's titles last season.

Soccer rallies to win on the road

Second-half goals from Brooke Steere and Marianna Annest lifted the No. 25 Alabama soccer team (11-4-4, 5-4-1 SEC) to a 2-1 victory over Missouri (5-9-3, 1-8-1 SEC) in the regular season finale. Alabama will now await seeding for the Southeastern Conference Tournament in Pensacola, Fla.
A second half surge from the Alabama offense overcame an early Missouri goal. Steere found UA's equalizer off a corner kick from Felicia Knox. Almost 20 minutes later, Annest fired a shot into the upper left corner of the net off a pass from Knox, who tallied her second assist of the night.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – For the second consecutive season, Victor Kiprop claimed the individual crown in the men's 8K race at the Southeastern Conference Championships Friday morning. The Iten, Kenya, native clocked 22:23.4, a good eight seconds ahead of the second-place finisher to help propel the men's squad to a second-place team finish.
Following Kiprop was teammate Hillary Cheruiyot who took third (22:39.4), while Eliud Kipsang (seventh | 23:11.0) was the third UA runner to finish in the top seven. The No. 22-ranked Crimson Tide men used only 57 points to take the second-place finish, as all five scoring runners for Alabama finished in the top 25.
On the women's side, Alabama distance duo Doris Lemngole (19:11.2) and Hilda Olemomoi (19:23.5) finished second and third, respectively, across the 6K course. The No. 13 UA women concluded the conference meet with an 84-point, fourth-place finish as Joy Gill (20:08.4) joined Olemomoi and Lemngole as a top-15 finisher for the Tide.
The individual feats mark the second-straight meet where the Crimson Tide turned in a pair of top-three finishes in both races.
