Alabama Swimmer Kalia Antoniou Named Cyprus’ Best Female Athlete of 2022
Alabama Olympian and All-American Kalia Antoniou was voted Cyprus Sports Writers Association's 2022 Female Athlete of the Year.
Antoniou earned both first and second-team All-America honors at the 2022 NCAA Championships. A graduate student, Antoniou also competed for Cyprus, earlier this year, at the World Championships in Budapest.
Alabama Olympian and All-American Kalia Antoniou was voted Cyprus Sports Writers Association's 2022 Female Athlete of the Year.

The Alabama track and field teams get set to make the shortest trip of the indoor season, in Birmingham, for the Samford Invitational.
The Crimson Tide opens the one-day competition inside the Birmingham CrossPlex with the women's weight throw leading off at 10 a.m. Friday morning.

Alabama Swimming and Diving Travels to Auburn for Friday Dual Meet
Alabama Swimming and Diving returns to action against Auburn Friday at the James E. Martin Aquatic Center in Auburn, Ala., starting at 4 p.m. CT. It marks the final dual meet of the season for the Alabama men and women.
The Crimson Tide women enter the meet ranked sixth in the CSCAA Coaches Poll, with the men's squad checking in at No. 14. The Alabama men hold a 3-2-0 dual meet record with wins over Delta State, South Carolina and LSU. The UA women also hold a 3-2-0 dual meet record recording wins over Arkansas, South Carolina and LSU.
The meet will stream on ESPN+ with live results available via the MeetMobile app.

Alabama swimming and diving traveled to Auburn for its final dual meet of the 2022-23 season on Friday. The No. 6-ranked Alabama women defeated No. 19 Auburn 155-145, while the No.14 Crimson Tide men fell to No. 9 Auburn 184-116. The women's squad won 10 individual events and both relays while the men won the final relay and five individual events.

Alabama Rolls at Samford Invitational, Breaks Multiple Meet Records
Alabama track and field broke nine meet records Friday in Birmingham, two coming from junior Amari Brown alone, at the Samford Invitational.
Brown's record-breaking performance in the women's 60-meter final moved the Milwaukee, Wisconsin, native to eighth all-time in Alabama women's program history.
In total, the Crimson Tide racked up 29 top-five finishes across 17 events. Alabama also won 15 total events, the women's program securing nine and the men's side bringing home six.

Alabama School Record Falls on Opening Day of Bob Pollock Invitational
On the opening day of the Bob Pollock Invitational, Alabama track and field's Chelsea Igberaese broke her own school record in the women's weight throw. Her 23.56-meter throw (77-3.75) also became a new facility record for Clemson's Rock Norman Track and Field complex.
On the men's side, Khaleb McRae's run of 46.13 in the men's 400-meter race not only earned him a second-place finish at the meet, but also moved him into a tie for fifth, nationally, per USTFCCCA rankings that came out prior to this weekend's meet.
After sweeping both weight throw event titles, the Crimson Tide ended with 14 top-five finishes on the opening day of the Clemson meet.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – After a standout showing at Clemson, Alabama's track and field programs have both landed in the top 10 of the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's (USTFCCCA) Week two rankings, with the women's side remaining at No. 4 and the men's team coming in at No. 10.
Alabama's women picked up two new or improved national top-10 marks over the weekend to maintain its top-four spot: Flomena Asekol is now ranked No. 10 in the 800 meters (2:04.42), while Chelsea Igberaese moves up to No. 4 in the weight throw (23.56m/77-3¾) after her school-and-facility record-breaking performance.
After entering the weekend unranked, the men's program soared into the top-10 behind efforts from the 4x400 relay squad who clocked the nation's fastest time in the event at 3:03.99. Khaleb McRae, Chris Robinson and Leander Forbes, all members of the 4x4, also clocked top-16 times in the men's 400m race, while Tarsis Orogot (men's 200m, 10th) and Christian Edwards (triple jump, 9th) both hold a top-10 mark in their respective event.

Alabama Head Soccer Coach Wes Hart Extended Through 2027
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Following the best season in Alabama soccer history, head coach Wes Hart received a raise and contract extension, University of Alabama Director of Athletics Greg Byrne announced. The approval was made by The University of Alabama System Board of Trustees Compensation Committee on Friday.
Hart's new agreement goes through December 31, 2027 with a base salary of $235,000.
