Out of all the players Oats and staff have visited or offered so far who do you most want?

RJ Cole is number 1 for me, and this includes the 5 star players we have offered, I think he could step in and average 15 ppg+ for us from day 1. Freshman can be hit or miss, even 5 stars, I like that Cole has shown that he can be a major scorer on the college level.

Number 2 on my want list would’ve been Beetle Bolden, stoked he already committed and signed.

Previous staff was on Murphy pretty hard. Heard they thought he’d be a national recruit and saw him as a point forward. Take it for what it’s worth

Do Kira and JP count?

If not Watford for me I guess. I like the Beetle guy. Cole sounds like a player too. I’m more skeptical of the transfers. We seem to set high expectations and rarely do they even come close to meeting them.

I wasn't counting them but the best recruiting job Oats has done so far was getting those guys back.

Oats doesn't sleep, and if he did he would be offering kids in his sleep.

By God, Byrne done hired us a freaking cyborg for our basketball coach. He’s offering every swinging dick in the top 100.

Nate’s coming...Nate’s coming and he ain’t backing down!

Just realized Jalen Green is also the #2 overall player in the class of 2020. If we landed him, he’d be our best recruit ever wouldn’t he?? I’m sure someone like Duke or UNC will end up getting him, but it’s cool to think about

I love that Oats is making these offers... but for real they mean almost nothing. There is no penalty to offering every kid in the top 100 other than looking desperate.

They will mean something if some of the players commit. Would you rather us only offer one or two good players per class?

Gerald Wallace was the #1 recruit according to most services I think.

I played against Gerald in HS. He played at 1 of my HS rivals. He put up like 50 on us 1 time.

Wallace was Naismith and USA Today high school player of the year. Not sure about Parade, Bob Gibbons or any of the other services we used back in the day. Looks like Jared Jeffries won the national Gatorade POY instead of Wallace.

Was there anybody else on the team worth anything? Just curious. Sometimes other guys will develop because they play with/against guys like Wallace. Then other times it’s in the best interest to let the future pro shoot 3 of 4 possessions since he’s unstoppable.

Weve had talent. Just seems we have bad luck. Either a.guy doesnt make it in we were counting on like Ray George. I think we were number one the year Kennedy Winston was a freshman then almost ended up not making the tournament lmao. Remember we had a good team a few years ago and Jamario Davidson girlfriend died in a car accident and he was never the same. Just always something.

I like Nate’s approach. He’s selling a nationally known brand that’s never lived up to its potential on the court and he intends to change that. You can come be a part of the group that reestablishes Alabama basketball and takes it to levels it has never achieved. You play in a premier league against great competition and get tons of exposure and the fan base is starving for success. You get to play in a high octane fun system for a coach that appears to get maximum effort and development out of his kids.

Hell yeah, I’d offer everyone I could. An offer doesn’t cost anything and all they can do is say no. And some might say yes. I love this approach.

Glad he is offering these kids but don't confuse activity with achievement.

He did an excellent job keeping our kids that we wanted and I think getting Bolden. The rest we shall see. Do love his work ethic and enthusiasm.
