South Carolina coach Frank Martin praised the Alabama guards but had few accolades for his own team.

“I learned from my old high school coach that if you don’t have anything positive to say, don’t say too much and I don’t have very much positive to say about our team tonight.

“You think anyone on our team has ever heard of taking a charge? Maybe when someone drives at 100 miles per hour from halfcourt, you could step in front of them but we didn’t. Kira beat us all night long.”

This is from Cecil’s article. I would link it but I’m struggling with this crap tonight

I can't just turn on and off my investment with a team I pull for. Whenever they lose I'm gonna feel bad. With this team I just understand that we've had so many injuries and bad luck that the loses don't hurt as much at this point, the wins feel really good though.

We already have more wins than I believed we would get. We are playing with heart. We had a couple of games that made me doubt the heart . This year is a win in my opinion. As long as we fight, I’ll be happy with whatever.

Yep. Not invested in this team. We could lose Tuesday to Vandy and it wouldn’t hurt me one bit....because I’m no longer invested

You say this but I call BS.

You sure post in here a lot for someone "not invested". You're gonna be crushed just like the rest of us if we lose to Vandy.

Going into the season, I thought 14 wins would be the max. I was wrong and I’m very happy about it. First month of the season, I thought we would be lucky to get 10

He’s invested. He’s a sucker like the rest of us. He’s trying to talk himself out of it

I thought we had elite eight potential before Gary and Rojas got injured and before Quinerly's waiver got denied. After that happened I changed to I think we will make the tourney, than after the Herb injury I was like year we probably aren't going to, then after the Petty injury I was like yeah we for sure aren't.

Been a season of tempering expectations.

Ok Fever, the season is almost over. Who do you PREDICT will be on the roster next season. Only guys that have signed or are already on the team. Can’t speculate about who we might sign from high school or grad transfer.

We lose Beetle for sure, 90% sure Kira goes pro, 50/50 on if Petty stays or tries to go pro. I think Galin grad transfers somewhere.

Then we have Ambrose signed and will add either two or three more players depending on if Petty stays or goes.

If Petty stays we probably add one more guard and one more F/C type. If he leaves we probably add two guards and a F/C type.

Do you believe Galin will be the only transfer? He tries, but he just doesn’t have it in him. I think Kira could help himself with another year of Oats and I feel the same about Petty. That doesn’t mean they will be here, but I think it would benefit them.

With a full squad of healthy players (hopefully) it would only benefit those guys

I think this is the most likely scenario, too.

Yeah I think so.

Kira's stock may be a the highest it will be in college, he gets some benefit of the doubt based on him being so young and he is playing as well as about any guard in the country aside from Anthony Edwards who of course will be the first guard taken in the draft.

Petty is 5th in the country in three point percentage, his stock may be at it's highest too. He is shooting 45% from three which is unreal. Say he comes back next year and shoots 37% but improves ball handling and defense his stock may still drop. If he comes back and shoots this well plus improves those other ares it would of course help him and he'd probably be a first rounder but I don't know his situation. Every year guys go pro that shouldn't.

Agree Fever

Kira is gone, and he should be. He's been fantastic, shown his entire game and will continue to rise. He'll be a 1st round pick and get a guaranteed contract.

Petty will come down to what he wants to do and what he thinks he can improve on......and where he wants to do that. He'll have a chance to play in the G-League and work his way to the NBA if he leaves this year. If he comes back and improves more like he did last year.....who knows? A lot depends on what you want personally. Basketball players like Petty can make money for a long time in different places, but if the goal is solely the NBA it's harder.

But he'll have some decisions to make.

If Kira and Petty came back along with everyone else except Beetle and Galin, we would have an incredibly strong core. Then if we could just bring in some support, we’d be great. Also, I’m not sure Hawkins will be here. Weight or whatever the reason is, I think he might be gone. Not pushed out, but just not happy

Yea - I don't think we should even think about Kira. He's gone.

Hopefully Quinnerly is the real deal. If so, pretty great to transition from an NBA guard to an elite talent (much like we did going from Collin to Kira).

I’m sure y’all are right. I just want to believe we could have Kira, Q and Shack on the floor at the same time

It's also great that Q has been practicing all year in the system and against Kira.

He will be fully integrated and ready to go.
