We are an 8 seed in Palm's bracket. I would've never thought we would have made a projected bracket at any point this season.

Playing away from home too can cause some uncomfort and unfamiliarity. I think we'll see our offensive % improve while at home, as well has better FT%. I'm just happy as hell Bama has come away with a 6-2 record, with what was really a tough stretch for a young team.

I'm praying we can beat Oregon. Come away with a 10-2 record with big wins over ND, Wichita State, and Oregon, and our losses only cominng against top 25 RPI opponents.
10-2 would be just.......I think we can go 11-8 in SEC play as well. We start off pretty tough though with Kentucky, USCe and Vandy back to back after going to Oxford. We need to go 3-2 in the first 5 games.

Bama vs Winthrop preview

quote:

Since it last played in Tuscaloosa (Nov. 20 vs. Louisiana-Lafayette), Alabama won four of its five road games, including two victories over ranked teams. The hoops team will now place its 12-game, non-conference home winning streak on the line when it hosts the Eagles. The Crimson Tide last lost a non-conference home game on Dec. 21, 2013 against Xavier.

quote:

And Winthrop will be no pushover. The Eagles' starting point guard Keon Johnson is the team's leading scorer with 18.9 points per game and is an effective shooter, while small forward Jimmy Gavin isn't far behind with 17.3 PPG.

"They're a talented team," Johnson said of Winthrop. "Their point guard, Johnson, and their small forward, Gavin, they can score bunches. Gavin had 38 points at North Carolina State, Johnson is hard to guard, he shoots 47 percent from the field, 47 percent from three, 87 percent from the free-throw line. So we've got our work cut out for us tomorrow, gonna have to have another total team effort to have some sort of success."

Starting line up for Winthrop:

G Keon Johnson (5-7, Jr.) 18.9 ppg., 4 rpg

G Xavier Cooks (6-8, So.) 13.5 ppg., 6.2 rpg.

G Bjorn Broman (6-0, Fr.) 8.3 ppg., 2.0 assists

G Jimmy Gavin (6-3, Gr.) 17.5 ppg., 3.6 rpg.

C Zach Price (6-10, Sr.) 5.3 ppg., 4.6 rpg.

Thinking we might have Kessens and Taylor in there quite often to take advantage of their size and pound the paint. If we can defend the perimeter well, we'll win easily IMO.

The official UA release says Shannon Hale is out tonight with "a medical condition." No timetable on return.
