Here i was expecting something different after the SEC tourney. Nope. THANK GOD i never have watch this team play again cause god almighty it was awful watching them turn it over, miss free throws, and lack most fundamentals. Other than showing some heart in the SEC tourney its been same shite different year.

Did you watch the same game? We had guys watching instead of closing out and let guys drive right down the lane without anyone stopping the ball multiple times. I feared we'd play like we didn't want to be there, and we did.

I mean maybe I just missed it, I just thought they took us out of our defensive game from the get go with their 4 guard lineup and that were guessing the whole game. Guessing on passes, guessing on cuts, guessing on pop outs.

So, I guess my takeaway was we weren't really sure what to do and that led to us being a step behind instead of an effort thing.

Either way, credit to Richmond, they ran their stuff really well.

Generally I've defended Key's effort, but it definitely wasn't there tonight. I get it's the NIT, but I don't like having my time wasted.

If that's true then Avery needs to answer for it. We shouldn't have lost this game

We played the same in the NIT last year.

We were a beaten down team at the end last year. And, we were playing a Creighton team that had gotten better as the year went on and that showed this year with a Top 20 caliber team.

Tonight was stinky, but in the 2 months it won't really matter.

He played pretty poorly. Was definitely forcing things the second half.

Fair enough. How's the offseason work on here? Do we just have one thread like this?

I had a feeling this may happen tonight. Our guys had NCAA tourney shirts made before the season, the goal was the NCAA tourney, not the NIT. We were 2 games from reaching our goal and they cried after they lost to Kentucky. They weren't into this game tonight, nothing else we could do.

I'm honestly not that upset. I realize that we only have a couple actual ball players on the team and I'm not including Ingram.

He played bad against Kentucky too. Maybe he hit the "wall"

I mean, it's kind of like preparing for something you never see in football. You can't replicate it in practice.

Again, I'm not defending our execution, but it's not as simple as saying "hey guys, they are going to run cuts and shoot 3s guard it". We didn't do it well and that led to us guessing and that led to us thinking and that led to a lot of easy looks for them.

Honestly, I just think he's an off ball player who isn't totally comfortable taking control like he has on a few occasions this year.

He will be the guy that will most benefit from Sexton next year IMHO.

I would like a offseason thread for basketball. It's fun to talk about and get away from all the rant bull shite.

100% agree. I'd love to spend more time over here shooting the shite about Alabama and the SEC in general anyway, to be honest.

Everybody here is smart and involved in stuff. The rant is just such a GD cesspool at this point.

If we played well enough, what Richmond does wouldn't have mattered. We didn't rebound great or anything. Just because they played with 4 guards doesn't mean we should lose

I made a 2017 recruiting and offseason thread last year that was pretty fun to use. We should do that again

Agree. My biggest problem wasn't even defense, it was the wasted possessions in which we didn't work to get Hall the ball down low, or put Key/Ingram on the block and let them work on smaller guys.

We basically wasted our advantage. Part of that was because our big guys suck on offense, but part of it was not being creative with our bigger guards/forwards.

One of the big things for next year has to be telling Ingram to take more open looks. He's a solid shooter. He needs to attack shots like he is.

Too many possessions he passes up an open look to let AJ Jr or Corban shoot a bad three or runner.

I'm disappointed in the opportunity lost. Clemson just lost to Oakland, so we get them at home. Two wins, and we're in deep in the NIT getting more exposure for our program. After showing so much effort in the tournament, it would have been nice to keep the momentum going. Instead, it'll all be written the same: "Alabama blows another game at home to a team no one cares about".

Everyone, give me room to Melt dammit. Last year I went to the OT lounge and jumped into a Taylor Swift thread and said she was born a boy and is transitioning into a man. Just please excuse me being pissed
