According to the basketball people King was suppose to be the best player on the team and everyone thought he would be a difference maker. So no he isn't what I thought he would be if Hale, Key, and Norris is playing more than he is. Don't see what's the problem with me saying that. I thought he would've been one of our offensive go to guys.

Yup. They made shots at the end, we took bad ones and had a turnover.

It happens, learn from it, move on.

my only problem is with Shannon Hale. Doesn't play like a senior, shitty jump shots, doesn't try to get to the basket at his size. Did play good defensively and had a block or 2

Yea - sucks we missed a good shot at a resume win, but we didn't play awful and we missed some shots

This is what was so promising from this game, they had a legitimate shot at winning the game in the final 2 minutes.

Oh,I'm definitely not giving up on this year if you can't tell! I'm pissed off at the ones already jumping off the bridge. I was just simply trying to lighten the mood in here saying that I couldn't wait until next year. Seriously though, who can't wait for Sexton, Petty, and all the other guys, plus thr guys we have now with another year under their belt?

Done with my melt.

Not a bad loss. Sure we could have won and it would have been huge, but still not all that bad.

Pros:
-Braxton Key is probably my favorite player and a solid playmaker .
-Dazon and Corban make a really good combo.
-Taylor played well inside.
-Rebounds
-Forced turnovers on defense. Defense transitioned well when Dayton wanted to run.

Cons:
-Shooting as usual. (Avery noted this after the game too)
-Missed free throws
-Fouls
-Not finishing at the basket.

Dayton is a very good and experienced team that could win the A10. We needed this win badly, but still a lot to stay positive on. Be glad we didn't get blown out like last year.

We're a 17-22 win team. We're now 0-1 in the swing games.

Good recap. I think that Key will continue to develop and be a big time player for this club. Excited to see Ingram grow and mature as well. You can tell that both those guys have "it" but just need to put the pieces together.

Corban Collins looks the part of a senior leader.

Jimmy Taylor is going to be an unsung hero for this team. Dude has gotten better every year since he stepped on campus.

I think at this point in the season for a team like ours, you look at how they develop and gel over the course of the year. Lots of basketball yet to be played. They will be seasoned and EXTRA salty when SEC play begins.

My God, reading the past several pages made my eyes bleed. We lost a competitive game against a really good team that will likely win their conference and make a run in the NCAA tourney.

We have a pretty good team this year imo, definitely better than last years squad. These guys are only going to get better as the season progresses too. We still have a lot to improve on, but they have clearly made progress from last year. We should be able to stay competitive with anyone on our schedule as long as we limit the prolonged stretches without making shots.

I saw plenty more good than bad today.

The problem is that you've decided he isn't the guy you thought he would be and will not be one of the offensive go to guys based on exactly two games.

As I said earlier, Retin Obasohan shot 13% from the floor and had 7 points against Dayton last year. If King is still doing the same in a month, you'll have a valid point but how about letting a little body of work develop before pronouncing final judgment?

I really hope Ar'Mond can live up to his hype. We desperately need that extra guy to come in and get hot if others aren't hitting it. Can't shoot 26% from the 3 and expect to win close games. Norris and Corban (combined 4-11 from the perimeter) have got to start hitting those open shots.

Uncanny turnovers have to be fixed too, but that'll come with better team chemistry.

I was wondering the same. He wasn't in foul trouble. I guess since Key was so good he didn't get many minutes. I would have liked to seen him at the 5 though at times. Better scorer than Hall, and rebounder.

No the problem is that you are taking what I'm saying and making into I said he sucks. He has been here an entire year with Avery. If you aren't better than Hale or Norris than he clearly isn't what everyone thought he would be. Not saying he won't eventually become a go to guy but I'm pretty sure everyone who put him in their starting 5 projection thought he would do at least half that retin did scoring wise and would be a starter.
