And just because I keep seeing people complaining about the offense and comparing it to Grant's... I'd like to remind you it was a good night under Grant if we got out of the 40's. This offense needs to improve, but it IS scoring a lot more than Grant's.

Not sure what actual PPG numbers are, but as Dave posted many pages ago, our offensive efficiency last year and currently this year are worse than any team Grant had.

our offensive efficiency
That's because Grant slowed the game down so much we only had to make 10 baskets to be successful on 50% of our trips. I'll take AJ's points over Grant's "efficiency".

But the thing is, we aren't putting up many points. I'm pretty sure we are still last in the SEC and still playing at an ungodly slow tempo.

That was also before the last 2 games where we've sped up the tempo.

In the last 2 games from when Dave posted the numbers, our tempo has fallen 2 spots to 298th and efficiency has dropped 1 spot to 180. We are at 67.3 possessions per 40 minutes. Hopefully by the end of January, we see that number substantially higher.

Not sure how that's possible. We've looked a lot more fast and efficient the last 3 halves. I've been just fine with our offense in that span.

Women's team dropped the first game to South Carolina. 12-2 overall still, but this is where Curry needs to start showing some improvement.

Looks like State is currently a 1 point favorite. Would be big for us to go over there and get a win.

If we play like we have the past 2 games, it's possible we could start SEC play 2-0. We play at Miss State and at home against Vandy this week

It would be disappointing not too.
Posted on 1/2/17 at 3:29 pm to Gary Busey
As bad as we've looked for most of the year, I'm not expecting much, but hoping for the best.
Posted on 1/2/17 at 3:31 pm to Gary Busey
Yep. We HAVE to start winning these type of games. Of course we're expected to lose to teams like Kentucky and Florida but when you play mediocre teams like Miss State and Vandy (this year), you have to beat them to take a step forward. Losing these games will be the ones that come back to haunt you on Selection Sunday.

Crazy to me that Norris would be rated that high.

I usually trust analytics, but Norris has been shite compared to Key. I don't care what the formula says
Posted on 1/2/17 at 6:02 pm to TomRollTideRitter
We should never allow Norris to dribble. He has been such a disappointment this year.
