This is my first year in the tide pride system. Today I was informed that my spot in line is in the 800's. Sort of surprised me. I thought I would have been further down the list. For those with experience with the wait list, what kind of time frame am I looking at before I get chosen. The email also said they will start working down the list in August. I don't plan on donating any money to move up the list, but am going to be purchasing basketball season tickets in August. By how much will that speed up the process to get football season tickets?

I can't really address specifics about your question. We've often heard that the waitlist was in the thousands, but the annual fee to stay on the list no doubt cleaned a lot of that up. So the list is no more than 1,000 apparently.

Second, you can buy season tickets on StubHub right now for $750 plus the fees. This has been the case for the last few years. So again, that sort of makes the waitlist somewhat mythical. You can buy two season tickets in section U4-QQ, Row 25, for $1,944, fees included, right now. Of course, that's maybe $400 more per seat than the original cost plus donation.

Also last year, there was a limited number of non-renewable season tickets available just for 2019 due to decreased visitor allotments and the reconfiguration with the changes to the stadium. Those ended up being not in high demand.

I don't know how long it will take them to get to you, but it may not be long. I just don't think there is high demand. I expect that many in front of you will drop.

Another thing...who knows how the virus will affect all of this. And I don't know what effect basketball season tickets has.

Good luck!

I appreciate the response. I’m in no hurry. To be honest, most of the time I prefer to watch the games on tv anyway, especially if I’m sitting up high which I will be for a long while when I finally do get chosen. Basketball, I want to be there. Football, I think I pick up much more and enjoy the games better on tv. I know that probably sounds strange to some though. Wife is the one really wanting tickets and having the option to go whenever I want to is also enticing. Figured I might as well get in the tide pride system.

Honestly, finding tickets on the secondary market to most games is so easy, there isn’t much need for season tickets through Tide Pride if you don’t intend on going to every game, or you don’t wish to accumulate points for bowl or road game tickets.

Auburn and LSU are tough/expensive tickets every year, but every other game you can find decent seats for close to face, or way under face for the non-conference cakewalks. I haven’t had season tickets since my parents gave up their seats in 2006, and the only game I tried to go to and was priced out of was the 2011 LSU game.

But to answer your question, I think you’ll move up pretty quickly. Maybe not this upcoming season unless this Covid thing throws a wrench in things .

I’ll never get season tickets again. You get burned out quickly unless you live close or have somewhere to stay in Tuscaloosa. Driving 260 miles round trip doesn’t help things for me though.

Lol. I would only sign up for it if the tickets were half price or cheaper with decent seats. Not to be a downer. It’s worth trying out once, but now that I’m in my 30s, it just isn’t practical to drive to Tuscaloosa every other weekend for 3 months, especially when the games are back to back at home for 3 weeks at a time. I completely understand people doing it though while Bama is still an elite program (not to say they will be another USC when Saban retires, but I also know this level of consistency can’t go on forever).
