I really hope and pray the SEC and B1G puts their foot down and say enough is enough. I didn't want it to be this way but the current trajectory of college football has made it so that the SEC and the B1G are propping up the weaker conferences. In no world are all conferences created equal and it's time to stop pretending that they are. If the playoffs go as we think they do and these teams get wiped out in the first two rounds, it's time to marginalize them once and for all. Screw the AQs, screw an ever expanding format, just get the 12 highest ranked teams in there regardless of conference affiliation or conference championships. The four highest ranked teams get a first round bye and the rest battle it out for an opportunity to play those four teams in the quarterfinals.

I know the Big Ten isn't weak in terms of revenue or influence. On the field it's only marginally stronger than the ACC or Big 12. It might have three or four good teams in a season and then a ton of terrible ones beneath them. I don't put in the same breath as the SEC. What I've watched of Indiana and Penn State, I think those are 5 or 6 loss teams with a schedule like Alabama or Georgia or Florida had
