Our scheme is blocking ourselves on a lot of plays.

The scheme is awful against the run. Our alignment is blocking ourselves on a lot of plays. The players have no chance.
On the play below Look at how big the gap is where the run the ball. Giving them an easy down block and kick out. FCS OLs could block this play.

idk what 19 was doing on that play. he looked more like an offensive player looking for someone to block

The only one who looked aggressive and knew what he was doing was 3.

Lawson does a good job from his LB position to make the tackle
Tim Smith should be ashamed… he doesn’t get blocked by the OL, you gotta know that’s a trap or a screen and since it’s a run play it’s a trap
Unacceptable to get blown up like that
19 is paying out of position he’s an edge rusher that looks to be playing ILB in this clip

Let’s take a run stuffing 315lb DT and line him up wide like a DE… makes sense ??

What the heck is Latham doing ? He's inside one guy that stops him before the double arrives. It's like he's acting on an info-mercial
In the immortal words of the unofficial assistant coach...We need several scholarship checks. Tim Smith..geez
Watching this again and again...I just wonder are young coaches trying to over scheme things why is Smith so far out.? The left tackle and left guard get easily down field with a TE in motion taking out Smith but then 19 moves to the side that already has 11 there..which is away from the obvious defensive deficiency ( that 10 ft btwn Keenan and Smith) ...and 0 is looking at the siding at the snap.
It's just mind boggling some schemes.
