Ok. The offense still did its job. The defense completely shite the bed against Vandy.

Saying the same thing over and over again doesn't make it true. Vandy scored on 75% of their possessions, The defense produced zero sacks and zero turnovers. They missed nine tackles. They allowed twelve third down conversions and a fouth down conversion. They gave up a ton of yards after contact. The linebackers were constantly out of position. They were objectively bad.

Vandy off. against P5 opponents is avg 24.1 ppg, 310.1 ypg, and 4.99 ypp. Versus Bama they had 33 offensive points, 418 yards, and 5.57 ypp
Vandy def. against P5 opponents is giving up 23.9 ppg, 389.4 ypg, and 6.27 ypp. Bama had 35 points, 394 yards, and 8.76 ypp
Offense was not perfect but defense did much worse relative to other P5 teams while the offense did better
