Alabama HC Kalen DeBoer clarifies on if OG Jaeden Roberts is still dealing with injury or is just trying to make his way back into the starting role:
“It’s competitive right now at those positions. Guys are competing in practice.
The comeback for him has been progressing. I think that’s why you feel the vibe from Coach Grubb and the words he said. He’s gotta keep doing it. That’s what we ask from every guy.
Some of these guys have gotten a chance to get on the field and take advantage of it, and that’s made it harder for others that had roles that were assumed.
I love Jaeden. Great, great kid. He’s got a lot of potential, and he’s gonna keep working.”

The Grubb comment on Roberts sounds like he's still been working himself into shape while the DeBoer comment sounds like he's just in a competition and others have earned their play time.

I think Grubb is trying to be diplomatic and not saying anything that counters his head coach but his head coach goes out there and is diplomatic but from another angle.
