I love all these creative ideas about using other personnel, but if they didn't try any of it against Auburn... where we came within one minute of losing the game... I just don't think the coaches have it in them. Maybe it is justified based on what they've tried in practice, I'm just not hopeful.

It is all about the game planning on Sunday and Monday. If it is not in the plan it is not going to be on BoB's play sheet.

My take on how BoB vs Sark vs Kiffen work as OC. (this is not a fact but it is my read on how they set up and call the games.)

Lane - predictive game flow scripting
Lane having grown up with a DC as a dad and learning from CNS, he has a pretty good idea of how the opposing DC will react to certain things. He runs specific formations and plays to cause the DC to adjust the plan to stop specific things. Those adjustments he is trying to create is to set the players on defense up so they react to something already seen and discussed on the sideline. When that adjustment has been set, he runs the same formation/motion package but changes the play for a big strike event. Every play he calls is to set up something he wants to do later - ultimate cat and mouse game planning

Sark - 20 play script then go off script based on feel of the game. Sark scripts 15 to 20 plays to start the game and test game planning theories so he knows what to come back to later and what minor adjustment might takethose plays over the top. I think he tends to have his guys more ready to adjust to non-gameplan teaks they can talk thru on the sideline during the game.

BoB - game call sheet Down and Distance groupings
Bob has multiple pages of D&D groupings. He spreads them out in the press box and does a hunt and peck selection of the plays they prepped during the week. He does not tend to blend plays in different formation & motions or call plays not already in his call sheet groupings. His game calling tends to be more predictable once you get a feel for what his call groupings are for the game. His in-game imagination sucks. The team will do well if the plays on his sheet are working. If the other DC prepped for what is on his sheet he does not adjust well on the fly.
