Because the 5 offensive linemen and a tight end are going to beat 8 guys every time.

It is stupidly frustrating how many times this needs to be brought up.

It’s also stupidly frustrating how often we either try to run into the teeth of that 8 man front or throw to an intermediate route. When you burn the D consistently with a screen, a slant or some other quick hitter or hot route and we run free between the line and the DBs they will back off. You’ve got to make them pay for doing it or it will continue.

I 1000% agree. I'm just getting annoyed with the constant, "the OL just stinks." stuff.

I've went back & watched all of the 1st quarter. We did not get pushed around on the OL at all. We won the line of scrimmage on both pass/run plays. The only mistakes i saw in the 1st quarter were on 2 plays. Lester Cotton missing a block just standing there which led to a sack & Irv Smith not blocking Key on a sack. We did fine otherwise under the circumstances. Will observe remaining quarters later when have time.

We have to make them pay when they leave single coverage on Ridley and company.

By that you mean they put 8 guys on the line of scrimmage and challenged Hurts to beat them through the air. He responded the best he ever has to that challenge. The offensive line did not.

That's pretty much it....and we'll see the same against State, Auburn and Georgia if we get there. The defensive secondaries will man up on our receivers, put 8 in the box and spy Hurts...mano e' mano...may the best man win.
Like Avery Johnson likes to say, "buckle your seat belt"....it's gonna be an interesting month!
