We've also rushed the field in Football during a few Iron Bowls too. Famously during the 1985 Van Tiffin kick, the crowd poured onto Legion Field.

It’s Auburn. No one rushes the court for Auburn. It’s embarrassing.

If you don’t have enough fun just by winning, then why even go to the game?

ie.... As a program that hopes to be somewhere better. Why not enjoy one of the few perks of being a non-elite while we're here?

What are you, 15 years old or something?

Even with our recent mediocrity, Alabama is 4th in all time SEC regular season titles, second in SEC tournament titles, third in all time wins overall among SEC teams, and leads the series with Auburn 96-64.

I'm not for rushing the floor at any time and you want to do it because you beat a team on your home floor that you historically beat far more times than you don't?

If only there were a way if we could verify this assertion.

Oh wait, there is. There's this place called Youtube were you can find lots of old football games.

1985 Iron Bowl end of the game

Huh, must be a deepfake because I don't see a mass of fans rushing the field at all.

Amazing how close AU's #3 (Kevin Porter) was to blocking that kick.

The good old days of having a dependable PK. Lil' Van Leigh Tiffin III just turned 7... I guess we only have ~11 more years to wait for another.

Jk. I think we really have a good one in Reichard once he heals up.

Leigh was nearly automatic but Van wasn't reliable at all. He's beloved today because he made that kick in the Iron Bowl (having missed a virtually identical one earlier in the game) but he was a career 67% kicker - worse than both Griff and Bol.

Something to be said for making them when they count the most, plus nostalgia over the years to shape a legacy.

That's a great point. Non of the students who would be doing this would have had much experience with basketball success outside of the oldest watching Gottfried's 2004 run on tube TVs during elementary school.

This I agree with completely. That's what's frustrated me the most about our recent kickers.

It isn't that they miss. It's that they miss when it matters - and that's completely psychological.

Do you now accept that the fans didn't rush the field after the 1985 Iron Bowl or are you the one that downvoted video proof.

I’ve never witnessed it in 50 years of watching Bama sports. If we did we should be ashamed.

I rarely click on links. That was embarrassing. Hope it never happens again.

It was because we clinched the SEC championship on a last second shot on our home court. Nothing about that is embarrassing.
