When Alabama was 13th last week, all they needed the correct placed chaos to make it. I think that situation has happened and we will know if they’re in tomorrow. I think all leagues besides the Big Ten and SEC are 1-bid leagues now if it goes how I suspect. If Alabama is 11th tomorrow, get your mind right for a pre-Christmas playoff road game.

I thought Alabama played themselves out against OU but clearly the committee disagreed or they’d bury them.

I agree after the Oklahoma loss I thought they would be between 15-17 then getting put at 13 was a sign that if any 1 loss team got beat this past week Alabama would pass them

I don’t think we can definitively say that SMU is out with a loss to Clemson. Just don’t see it.

You don't have to.

You probably thought we would be ranked 15 or lower like others when Boz and some of us were trying to get yall to understand this committee has always valued Alabama compared to other SEC and ACC teams.

Agree to disagree then. I think we will be 11 tomorrow, which is a great spot but depends entirely on SMU over Clemson for a spot.

Objectively when I looked at this. SMU only made it to the 9 ranking. Ever. Miami was 6. SMU never made it higher. I feel like they are the barely in team if not for the ACC Championship. Realistically had Miami not lost and Clemson still lost would we still be having this convo about the championship. Would both Miami at 2 losses and or SMU at 2 losses both be in after the ACC championship. I have to default to no because of how they dropped them before. The committee chair can say whatever he wants on tv but they have proven they don’t always follow it.

My position is ACC became a 1-bid league last weekend. Clemson or SMU gets in, not both. SMU has no quality wins. They’re going to drop like a rock if they lose to a top 20 opponent.

Big-12 and MWC are clearly 1-bid leagues.

If Alabama is 11th tomorrow, it’s a wrap no matter how anyone feels about it. Just my opinion.

There’s always the fact that the Georgia-TCU NC game was the least watched one of the playoff era.

Maybe. I would be surprised to see them punish a championship game participant like that. 2 ACC teams would be the easy way out for the committee.

I would hope the playoff committee learned a lesson from picking TCU but we are probably giving them too much credit.
