This is an intriguing prospect. He has good numbers and he has lead his team into the title game. His numbers are comparable to Taulia's.

I'd love to hear one of these recruiting sites breakdown exactly what it is Bama loves so much about Metchie, for him to have landed the only WR scholly of the year.

I think the highest any site has him ranked is in the thirties, and 247 has him 41st WR.

I'm well aware of the "hard worker" "Bama attitude" "good routes" reports, but... how did he manage to top Bamas WR board this year ?

Clay Webb cancelled his in-home visit with Dabo.

It appears he is down to Alabama and Georgia.

I thunk he was just one of Gattis guys. I could be wrong tho. If K. Rob follows Lovks i wish we would go after the in state guy.

That is the question I would ask regarding Metchie. If we are going to take just one WR he should be in the range of Jeudy or Ruggs, not a project. I do think Metchie is a very good athlete but not sure how elite a WR he is,same with Billingsley, looks like terrific athlete but how elite is he as a TE?

Nick Saban did his in-home visits on Monday with Alabama commitments Brandon Turnage, Taulia Tagovailoa, Amari Kight and DJ Dale. were at the high school except for Taulia. He also visited with Clay Webb on Monday morning with Alabama OL coach Brent Key.
Pete Golding visited with five-star linebacker Nakobe Dean.
Josh Gattis had in-home visits on Monday evening with Crimson Tide commitments Antonio Alfano and John Metchie in New Jersey.
Marcus Banks had an in-home visit on Monday evening with Alabama assistants Jeff Banks and Karl Scott.
Josh Gattis and Brent Key are hitting IMG Academy to visit with Trey Sanders, Evan Neal and Nolan Smith. .

Ohio State commitment Jordan Battle is receiving an in-home visit from Alabama. His father confirmed with me the visit will happen this evening. Joe Pannunzio and Karl Scott are visiting. (Update: Expect Nick Saban to visit Battle)

Nick Saban spent time with Alabama commitment Braylen Ingraham today.

Coach Saban also visited with top WR/TE target Keon Zipperer.

Alabama is also slated to see Khris Bogle

A look ahead to Wednesday
Nick Saban will have an in-home visit on Wednesday evening with Kayvon Thibodeaux. Thibodeaux will take his final official visit this weekend to Florida.. Expect Jeff Banks (area recruiter) with Coach Saban. I have not confirmed if Tosh is also there, but most likely.

Coach Saban and Jeff Banks are also scheduled to make a stop in Arizona on Wednesday to see Noa Pola-Gates and Ty Robinson. Thought originally the visit was today, but it's on Wednesday.

The Rivals250 will also drop on Wednesday. I expect some big movement from Alabama commitments Taulia Tagovailoa and Brandon Turnage. Also keep on eye on Braylen Ingraham.

I questioned Metchie before and was told they loved his character and didn't want to hurt recruiting in the area so he was a take. I have hard time understanding that when we can have a better guy, but I don't work for Saban so

He was and has been the number one priority for Nebraska this cycle. I think Their coach wants to feature him in his offense. His go to guy on offense.

2020 4-star OT Jake Wray just de-committed from Ohio State.

If you remember we were a leader for his brother, Max, at one point last year before he committed to Urban.
