Having a recruiting backup option like Deondrick Glass does not suck.

Yeah it's sad for him if he doesn't get to go to his #1 choice. Bama has to pass on quite a few very good players who want to be in this class. It's a great position to be in.

I am just hoping Justin Eboigbe , Keilan Robinson, Braylen Ingraham,Jahleel Billingsley and Jordan Battle are all in the final class.
Now stealing Khris Bogle would be huge ..!

Personal news: I will soon be stepping down as executive sports editor at The Tuscaloosa News. I'll be leaving behind a great team and many friends. I have accepted a position with The Tennessean as sports enterprise reporter. I'm excited to start with a new team in a great city.

Tweet from Tommy Deas.

I'm going to miss the guy. This is shocking

Hagan said Glass was to give Sanders a nudge. Would be a great backup plan.

Deondrick Glass just got an Oklahoma State CB from Ohio State mod Andrew Ellis.

ETA: Hank - "I think we'll see Alabama wait to see what happens with Sanders (which I think will be good news for Bama) before making a decision on Glass. Bama doesn't have to rush it with him not signing early."

I think we'll be able to hang on to all of our 21 commits, which allows 7 (maybe 8) more takes. If so, at this point I think these are most likely:

RB - Sanders
OT - Neal
OG - Webb or OT - Wright (may miss on both)
DL - Sopsher
ILB - Dean
ILB - To'oto'o
OLB - Bogle (or maybe a DL or DB)
DB - Pola-Gates, Carter, Battle, Cross or Lee

If we get 2 of the OLs, Bowles might flip, perhaps to UK. If we miss on Dean or To'oto'o, maybe Heimuli or Devonta Lee gets in (ILB).

Why are we hoping for Bowles to flip when he is having a great year? Like your list but i will take out Dean and add another corner. Things will be a lot more clear after the early signing period.

I'm not hoping for Bowles to flip. I think we'll get Neal, but could miss on both Webb and Wright. I think Dean and To'oto'o will both sign with Bama.

I actually hope it ends up the way you say.

I'd bet more on your (educated) guesses than my own (fairly uneducated), but here goes if we have seven (don't @me, I don't have a clue):

RB - Sanders
OL - Neal
DL - Ika
ILB - To'oto'o
OLB - Bogle
DB - Cross (wild guess)

Torn between one of Webb, Dean and Sopsher.

Probably not what would be our best case but would still be a hell of a close.

We likely have at least one more surprise commitment though and likely have at least one more of the current commits drop (voluntarily or otherwise (grades, etc.)) but no clue on those.

Eta: took a wild guess on Cross for DB, but think Pola-Gates may be more likely.

I don't think we get Dean and To'oto'o.

I think it is one or the other. We already have an ILB in Shane Lee.

I used to think it'd be hard to land To'oto'o if Dean signs early with Bama, but the chances seem a lot better to me now that we can. We'll see.

I've taken a few months off from recruiting because of Bama football and MLB playoffs. Last time I was here, the feel was we would end up with about eight 5-Stars the cycle. This still the feeling around here?

Now it looks more likely that we could get about 6 5-stars: Sanders, Quick, Neal, Alfano, Sopsher, Dean -- maybe Webb or Wright, Thibs is looking less likely lately.

Oh ok. Any chance any current commits could bump up to a 5-Star?

Not sure how the staff views them, but 247 shows Dean ILB and To'oto'o as an OLB.
