Y'all need to trust in Saban and his staff's evaluations and choices in making these tough decisions.

Oh I trust their evals, but that doesn't mean I can't have my own preferences. My evaluations are straight shite, but I'm still going to give my thoughts. I have no problem admitting to being wrong

I'm not saying y'all shouldn't choose and express your preferences. I meant it more as don't let yourselves feel too disappointed if the staff opts for their choice instead of yours. The way I see it, Bama having to make tough choices among such talented players is a great problem to have.

LINK ]Devonta Lee -- 4-star ATH, Amite, LA

Lee has been a regular in Baton Rouge for the last couple of years and the Tigers have been considered the favorite for some time. Lee is still talking to Alabama, Arkansas, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Tennessee among others, but the home-state school will be very difficult to beat.

Ed Orgeron and his staff have gotten off to a great start this season, so that has only helped LSU’s chances. Lee is wanted in Baton Rouge and it hard not seeing Lee ending up there. You can’t ever rule out Alabama, and Amite did send Devonta Smith to Tuscaloosa, but at this time, LSU is trending in a big way.

Prediction: LSU

LINK ]Florida Spotlight: Four commitment predictions

Evan Neal
quote:

There’s no shortage of uncommitted prospects in Florida. And while recruiting in the state can be hectic, the unpredictability doesn’t stop Rivals.com from making predictions. It’s why, below, you’ll find our best guesses at landing places for four of the state’s top players.

LINK ]Tyrique Stevenson, 4-star CB, Miami, FL

Stevenson must still be considered a Georgia lean, but him landing in Athens doesn’t seem quite as certain was it once did. The Miami-area star seemed close to making a verbal pledge to Georgia this offseason, and the fact that it never took place seemed surprising at the time.

The four-star cornerback is still considered a Georgia lean, but Miami has to feel better about its chances with each passing week. There’s probably a reason Stevenson hasn’t made the call for the Bulldogs yet, as the Hurricanes have applied the full-court press. UGA remains the pick, but Miami continues to creep further into the picture.

Prediction: Georgia

LINK ]Evan Neal, 5-star OT, Okeechobee, FL

A one-time Alabama commit, Neal insists that he’s still considering Alabama, Miami, Florida, Florida State and others. Still, this feels like an Alabama-versus-Miami battle.

Prospects don’t often re-commit to the schools from which they have decomitted but such a situation feels possible in Neal’s case. It’s probably too early to make a definite call on Neal, who doesn’t say much in interviews. Still, it seems perfectly reasonable to assume he’ll sign with either the Tide or the Hurricanes after he takes a few official visits.

Prediction: Miami or Alabama

Top 10 performers during first month of season

quote:

Football starts later in the northeast than many other places in the nation, with much of New England not getting started until the second or third weekend of September.

Meanwhile, Virginia begins in late September, so there is still plenty of football to watch late in the summer.

In getting to see multiple games on many weekends because of so many games on Saturdays, there is an opportunity to scout a bundle of players and teams.

So as September turned to October, I kept a list of 10 prospects and an up-and-comer I saw in the first month of the season. Those who made the list include players committed to Alabama, West Virginia, Miami and Ohio State, a son of a big-time NFL linebacker and a 2021 quarterback who could turn out to be one of the top players in his class once he gets more experience.

This feature also includes members of three classes -- 2019, 2020 and 2021 --- and players from six states, and various positions on the offensive and defensive side of the ball. The list was a made from a combination of in-game performance and projection as to what the player will be in college.
