Kayvon Thibodeaux

Position: Defensive end
Ht./Wt: 6-4 1/2, 239
High school: Oaks Christian in Thousand Oaks, California
The skinny: It looks like a three-team race involving Alabama, Southern Cal and Florida State for Thibodeaux's signature. Alabama's ability to put defensive linemen in the NFL should help, but beating Southern Cal will be difficult.

Trey Sanders

Position: Running back
Ht./Wt: 6-0, 214
High school: IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida
The skinny: Sanders was once committed to Alabama, but later re-opened his recruitment. His blend of size and speed fits the prototype Alabama wants from its running backs. Alabama seems to be the leader, but Florida and Miami (Fla.) are in the mix. It will be interesting to see how many Alabama assistants show up to watch him play at Hoover next month.

It's still possible

Evan Neal

Position: Offensive line
Ht./Wt: 6-7 1/2, 360
High school: IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida
The skinny: Despite his massive size, Neal looked nimble and athletic during 1-on-1s as The Opening summer recruiting showcase in Frisco, Texas, and his quickness means he could play guard or tackle in college. Miami (Fla.) seems to be Neal's leader, but Alabama is still in the mix. He was listed at 390 pounds last year, so he's slimmed-down look shows discipline and hard work.

Ishmael Sopsher

Position: Defensive line
Ht./Wt: 6-3 1/2, 334
High school: Amite (La.)
The skinny: LSU seems to be the eventual destination for the massive defensive lineman, but Alabama appears to be the only other school with a serious shot. Sopher plays at the same school that produced national championship game hero Devonta Smith, so maybe he can help reel in Sopsher.

Darnell Wright

Position: Defensive line
Ht./Wt: 6-6, 320
High school: Somewhere in Virginia
The skinny: Ohio State and Tennessee appear to be the leaders, and Alabama is third in line. If Tennessee lands Wright, it would mean the Vols grabbed the nation's top two offensive lineman, as Wanya Morris, from Grayson (Ga.), is already committed to Tennessee. Wright said at The Opening he wants to find a school that sends tackles to the NFL, so that might help Ohio State and Alabama.

Nakobe Dean

Position: Linebacker
Ht./Wt: 6-0, 220
High school: Horn Lake (Miss.)
The skinny: Ole Miss has made Dean one of its top priorities in recruiting, and it's clear the Rebels need help on defense. Auburn is also a major player in Dean's recruitment, as are Georgia, Florida State and Alabama. It's impossible to know which way he's leaning, and Dean might not make a decision until the early signing day in December.

Virtually no chance

Zach Harrison

Position: Defensive end
Ht./Wt: 6-5 1/2, 243
High school: Olentangy Orange in Lewis Center, Ohio
The skinny: It would be a major surprise if Harrison doesn't pick Ohio State, but Michigan still seems to be a remote possibility. Alabama's not really involved.

Bru McCoy

Position: Athlete
Ht./Wt: 6-2 1/2, 220
High school: Mater Dei in Santa Ana, California
The skinny: Expected to play receiver in college, McCoy has offers from Texas, Oregon and Washington, but it seems inevitable he'll sign with Southern Cal. No southern schools are really in the mix.

Kyle Ford

Position: Wide receiver
Ht./Wt: 6-2, 212
High school: Orange Luthern in Orange, California
The skinny: Ford showcased his speed, strong hands and toughness at The Opening summer recruiting showcase, which is why he was named the 7-on-7 tournament MVP. It will be a major surprise if he doesn't sign with Southern Cal.

I guess they went with Composite rankings for this article because they don't mention Quavaris Crouch.

Is Tuitele our only hedge for Sopsher? Ika is an EE. I wonder what strategies has Saban implemented to avoid a bad signing day in February.

Bama has all the momentum with Thib now. The FSU momentum is all but gone. I think we're in good shape right now.

Sophsher appears to be Bama's #1 target to add to this DL class, but they're still recruiting the following DLs too.

4* DT Siaki Ika 6-3/347 UT hudl *
4* DT Jaquaze Sorrells 6-3/290 FL hudl
4* DE Ty Robinson 6-6/285 AZ hudl
4* DT Faatui Tuitele 6-4/299 HI hudl
4* DE Nathan Pickering 6-4/286 MS hudl MSU
4* DE Jaren Handy 6-5/278 MS hudl AU

By Dean and his family visiting for Bama's home games as much as they can manage. According to Dean's mom, they're hoping to make it this coming weekend.

Bone on GHS:

- If had to make a pick today, Thibo to Bama

- believes Bama would make room for Robinson, but Bama really wants Pickens.

-same story with Webb. He and mom had great visit, but nobody knows what the hell this guy gonna do.

-DE that the staff likes a lot from south Florida, but not ranked very highly by the sites is visiting this coming weekend for several days. Didn't catch name.

-Iron Bowl will be biggest recruiting weekend of the season.

Braylen Ingraham (OV)
Jalani Williams (OV)
Ishmael Sopsher
Nakobe Dean
Carson Beck
