TigerPaw, saw on the AU board, Kane's father is an AU alum, who is his father?

Kane Patterson's father, Wes, was a walk-on QB for Bama as a freshman. Idk if he attended AU after that.

Hank: "Other programs in the mix include Clemson, Tennessee and Texas A&M at this point." If he has a good season coming off his injury, his stock will probably go up.

ETA: Tennessee might make a push for him. I think they're getting real tight on spots though, since transfers used 2-3 of their spots. And ATM already has 25 commits.

ETA: Clemson mod CBd Kane Patterson to CU.

4* LB Kane Patterson decommitted from Ohio State tonight. Dad graduated from AU. Curious to see if we turn the heat up on him. We didn't earlier

Brandon Turnage pick 6
quote:

Alabama commit Brandon Turnage (@BallerNation10) with a quick pick-six as halftime nears. The #Rivals250 four-star is fully healthy after missing most of last year. Looks like his speed is back.

Turnage had 2 picks tonight in a blowout win over Charleston.

Oops. Didn't see that someone else posted Wandale's stats already.

Freak. I don't know if he's Jaylen Waddle or not, but he's about as close as it gets in this class, IMO.

He started his collegiate career at Bama as a walk on QB but then transferred to AU & graduated from there

He didn't play football at AU

Trio from Alabama make initial class of 2021 Top 100 rankings
quote:

1. GA'QUINCY MCKINSTRY, CB/WR, PINSON VALLEY (NO. 30 OVERALL)

At 6-foot, 175 pounds, Ga'Quincy McKinstry has put together both enough on tape and more than enough during in-person evaluations to kick off the class of 2021 rankings atop the state. Few in the region, regardless of class or position, have the overall athleticism and instincts on the football field the sophomore possesses. He is fairly tall, long, runs very well and has wide receiver-like ball skills. His future is likely most valuable in the secondary, potentially as a lock-down cornerback, and every rep he gets will only add to his most glaring weakness at the position -- experience. McKinstry is also a legitimate Division I basketball recruit as a scoring guard, known locally for his semi-viral dunks both in practice and on the AAU circuit.

247Sports is not the only group very high on the two-sport standout early on, as McKinstry has football offers from Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, LSU and several others to his name. In basketball, he picked up an offer from UAB while in middle school and has many other high major institutions keeping tabs on him as he begins to wrestle the debate on which sport to focus on at the next level.

quote:

2. TIM KEENAN, DT, RAMSAY (NO. 48 OVERALL)

Tim Keenan kicked off his sophomore season Thursday night and showed some of the athleticism he's come to be known for, snagging an interception from his defensive tackle spot and lead-blocking in the Ramsay High jumbo package near the goalline and in short yardage. But the 6-foot-2, 285-pounder has even more of the new-age defensive line traits that have become a trend both in college football and in the NFL. Not only is he strong and an ox already, he is very nimble at the same time. Keenan plays with great leverage and quickness with some explosive short-area ability to collapse a pocket. He was the source of considerable buzz at every team camp he hit this offseason and has the chance to be the most highly-recruited interior defensive lineman in the state since former five-star and 2018 first-round NFL Draft pick Daron Payne.

Keenan already has a strong offer list, including Alabama, South Carolina, Louisville and UAB. Once more eyes get on him this fall, his offer list should double and triple with relative ease.

quote:

3. ARMONI GOODWIN, RB, HEWITT-TRUSSVILLE (NO. 73 OVERALL)

Speed is the name of the game for Armoni Goodwin. He has put on good weight, up to 190 pounds, and added strength in the last year or so but there is no doubt where the evaluation begins. The biggest element from his 2,000-yard freshman season while playing at Florence (Ala.) High, in the state's highest classification, was hitting the hole at full speed and seldom being slowed or stop once he hit the open field. Goodwin has battled some minor health issues since the 2017 season, but his lower-body explosion will help him improve in between the tackles as well as laterally moving forward. With Hewitt-Trussville playing on national television Saturday, the entire country has a chance to see what kind of threat Goodwin is in the open field.

Ole Miss was the first SEC program to come through on the offer list for Goodwin, preceded by UAB, Southern Miss and Jacksonville State. A bevy of Power 5 programs will soon do the same as he helps jump-start what should be the most explosive offense in the Yellowhammer State.

Now we know why he was riding the car with Saban at the cookout. He must be a priority for us.
But how is our strike rate with kids riding with Saban? I remember a couple who did not bite. Anyone have any idea?

Maybe in 2021 when he’s out of JUCO.

Looks like Hoover PK and UA commit Will Reichard is already going off the ground (instead of a tee) with his FG/PATs. Don't see that a lot.

Yeah, Pickens looks legit to say the least. He looks more AJ Green than Julio to me, but when those are the comparisons you might be aight.

Nix, and Ashford both look good, but Nix admittedly is impressive.

He can throw accurately from a lot of different arm slots/angles. He clearly knows where to go with the football, and he delivers the ball very accurately. Has the ability to throw a WR open. Very composed. In command. The boogers are getting a good one.

Reichard has a big time leg. The ball explodes off his foot, and gets lofted with the quickness. He has been booming his kickoffs through the endzone. He did miss a 29 yd attempt in this game in a very Bama looking hook left so... he's one of ours no doubt.

I was taking a look at the St. Frances Academy (Shane Lee, Darrian Dalcourt and Chris Braswell’s team) schedule. They start the season ranked 7th nationally by Maxpreps and open the season against #22 St. Joseph’s Prep (Philadelphia). They also play 4 teams from Canada.

Here’s some more notable teams:

Maxpreps top 25

3. IMG Academy - FL (Trey Sanders, Evan Neal, Nolan Smith etc.)

5. St John’s - DC (Keilan Robinson, Mekhail Sherman, Rakim Jarrett)

6. Grayson - GA (Kevin Harris)

7. St. Frances - MD (Shane Lee, Darrian Dalcourt, Chris Braswell)

10. St. Louis - HI (Faatui Tuitele)

14. Hoover (Will Reichard, George Pickens, Robby Ashford)
