We said the same thing about Florida back in 2008 to 2010.
Relax.
I haven't had a drop of alcohol in 3 weeks and you don't see me losing my shite.

And they were. Not sure we can count on Kirby to implode his program with a complete lack of discipline and accountability like Urban did at UF. We haven’t had a competitor like this on the recruiting trail in a long, long time. I’d like to see Saban unleash hell on them with 2-3 high profile commits this week as a statement. Hell, I’d settle for one high profile commitment this week.

I get what you are saying, but I'd rather we just beat them on the field.

No reason we can’t do both. And frankly, they are tied together. Recruiting and winning, that is.

I’ll say this, UGA is our main competitor now. When they come out with a flurry of commitments, Saban and company would be wise to have a counter punch ready to go public. Seems they’re building steam heading into the season while we’re flat. I don’t like that. Need Hill or Sanders or both to go public soon and make a big spectacle of it.

To some extent, yes, they are.
But a lot of football has to be played between now and the SEC Championship game. Do they make it to Atlanta? Maybe. Do we? Probably.
Let's worry about making a statement then, not in July.

West Jones: Mustangs are aiming to get past the first round of the Class 5A playoffs after coming up short against Stone last season. Offensively, West Jones has five starters back that’ll be led by quarterback Dusty Cook (682 yards passing, 5 touchdowns in 2017) and will use three different running backs in Jasper Jones, Londarrius McRunnels and Michael Neal. Defense is where West Jones will hang their hats on early with nine starters back. The entire defensive line is back led by highly talented defensive end Byron Young (30 tackles, 14 sacks in 2017) and Jon Micah Coleman. Jaylen Keyes and Sley Lyon return to anchor the linebackers, while Cedric Bender and Antonie Kirk will lead a veteran secondary.

Lafayette: The Commodores are coming off a 3-8 season in their first year in 5A, however, they enough firepower back to make a run in Region 1-5A. Athlete Brandon Turnage returns after suffering a season-ending foot injury early last year and is primed to have a break out year. Replacing Jamarcus Quarles at running back will be a concern. Linebackers Jason Sawyer and Jemetrio Crowder return to lead the defense.

Mississippi Class 6A Preview

Horn Lake: The Eagles were a big surprise last season, reaching the second round of the Class 6A playoffs. With a veteran group back, they are aiming to make a deeper run in 2018. Horn Lake returns quarterback Raydarious Jones who tossed for 923 yards with four touchdowns while rushing for 842 yards with 12 touchdowns. The big key for Horn Lake is replacing Tyler Grim at running back. Octavius Williams and Jakivuan Brown will be the top wideouts. Defense is where the Eagles lean a lot on early with eight starters back and most are in the front seven led by linebacker Nakobe Dean (147 tackles in 2017). Defensive back Tony Washington returns to anchor the secondary after recording six interceptions last season.

If you can't tell by my previewing of Mississippi high school football by classifications, I'm pretty bored at work right now.
I'm going to post the updated state rankings over the next several posts. 247 and ESPN updated recently so there may be some movement from the previous versions. I'm not doing all 50 states, just the ones relevant to us.
