Kipp Adams, one of the Georgia 247 mods, held a recruiting chat today.
Here's one of the questions he answered:
Seeing as how they would have to beat Alabama to accomplish either of those feats, I like his answer.
They should have a pretty good season, but I don't think Georgia would stay within 14 points of this upcoming Alabama team.
Here's one of the questions he answered:

Which is more likely - UGA gets the #1 recruiting class in 2019 or UGA wins the national title this year?
National Title.

They know Bama is getting that #1 class back this year. And I like your optimism, but 14 points better than UGA? We barely beat them last year and they should be better this year. I like our odds to win another close one, but curious why you think Bama would blow UGA out?

This time when we insert Tua in the second half he will already have last year’s experience and won’t start as slow.

Waddle looks better on the hoof than I expected. Eddie looks thicker than I thought. Surtain looks like he already has an NFL frame. Armour looks like one of Saban’s valued “he’s got some dog in him” kind of player.

Dax has informed Oklahoma he won’t be committing there. He’ll announce his decision via an edit on twitter.

All those guys look better than I thought they would. Amazing how developed freshmen are these days. Looking forward to seeing Anoma, Surtain and Waddle especially.

He’s a guy I get more and more excited about relative to his future. I think he will likely take a year or two to develop but ends up being a great player for multiple seasons.

I'd be very surprised if Uga is as good as last year. They lost a LOT of seniors, and a lot on defense. Last year's team also had very good chemistry. They were also the hunter. Let's see how they do as the hunted.

Valid points. But their last two classes have been #3 and #1. Their young guys have Bama level talent. They are only getting more talented and deeper in 2018. They will miss some of those seniors though, Sony, Chub, Wynn, Roquan, etc were a rare combination of excellent leadership and elite talent. I'd feel better if they didn't have that freakin' autistic kicker than can drill them from anywhere on the field. How do we never get a kicker like that?

We outscored them 26-10 once Tua entered the game.

What makes you think they should be better this year? They lost their two best players on offense and their best player on defense. Like I said, they'll have a good season, possibly even a great one. However, they won't have a better "team" than last year IMO.

I didn't say we would blow them out. Winning by 14 isn't a blowout. It'd probably be close until the 4th quarter.

IMG Media Day: Smith still with UGA, more takeaways
quote:
BRADENTON, Fla. – IMG Academy is loaded with top college talent from all over the country and on Wednesday the team held its annual media day, giving reporters a chance to catch up with the elite prospects before they start their preseason training camp. Rivals.com Southeast analysts Rob Cassidy and Woody Wommack were on hand to talk to the players and give their five biggest takeaways from the event.

FIVE-STAR RB, OHIO STATE COMMIT GIVEN GAG ORDERS
The highest ranked prospect at the event, five-star running back Trey Sanders, was ordered to avoid interviews at media day as some form of punishment for breaking a team rule. Sanders, who will not visit a college campus this weekend, mulled around the media room but did no on-record interviews with reporters under orders from Wright.
Sanders’ teammates spoke about his recruitment during the event and mostly predicted the five-star tailback would land at either Florida, Texas or Alabama.
Ohio State defensive back commit Lejond Cavazos was also under the same gag order as Sanders, and was off limits to reporters on Wednesday. The exact infraction that brought on the duo’s media ban was undisclosed.

Four-star tackle Evan Neal named Alabama, Miami, Florida, Florida State and “other southern schools” as the main players for his commitment. Neal, who says he plans to enroll early at the school of his choice, plans to make a verbal commitment during the upcoming season.

CLASS OF 2020 STANDOUT NAMES SCHOOLS OF INTEREST
Michael Redding's recruitment is still in its early stages, as the class of 2020 receiver will likely rack up more offers in the year ahead. Still, that didn’t stop him from naming a few schools of interest during Wednesday’s event.
“My recruitment is still open, but I’ll give a quick top five,” Redding said. “ It’s probably Auburn, Georgia, Alabama, Miami and Arkansas.”
Redding has already visited both Alabama and Georgia and says he intends to take trips to both Miami and Arkansas sometime this fall.

Valid points. We'll see if UGA can reload and contend for the CFP again, as well as Bama usually does.
We lost most of our starters on defense. And, we had A LOT of staff changes, but Saban sounds very confident in this staff.

An NFL player saying he wouldn’t draft 391-pound Evan Neal motivated the 5-star lineman to get in shape
This article is pretty long so I'll stagger it over the next few posts. It was written by Bud Elliot who CB'd Neal to Alabama earlier today so we should get some semblance of why he put that CB in from it.
quote:
BRADENTON, Fla. — Five-star IMG Academy offensive lineman Evan Neal is down more than 30 pounds from his high of 390-plus this winter.
“I feel the best I’ve ever felt as a player. My goal weight is about 320-325, so I still got a lot of work to do.”
Pro players often train or rehab at the Academy. Neal said that NFL offensive lineman Bryan Bulaga (6’5, 314) told a trainer back in the spring that if he was an NFL team, he would not draft Neal because of his weight. Neal said that having a lineman already in the NFL say that motivated him, because Bulaga knows what it takes to get there to the highest level.
“If he says he wouldn’t draft me, obviously I’m doing something wrong, and I gotta get right.”
The main thing for Neal has been watching what he eats. He is now much slimmer than he was in the photo above from February. It helped him dominate opposing defensive ends at The Opening Finals in Dallas earlier in July.
