5-STAR LB NAKOBE DEAN
School: Horn Lake HS, Horn Lake, Mississippi
Height, weight: 6-0, 220
247Sports ranking: No. 2 ILB, No. 20 overall, No. 1 in Mississippi
247Sports Composite ranking: No. 1 ILB, No. 19 overall, No. 1 in Mississippi
Nakobe Dean arguably is Texas A&M's top out-of-state target -- but as you would expect with any 5-star prospect, he's a primary target for several programs. Alabama, Georgia, LSU and Auburn are among the schools the Aggies are competing with for his services. Dean, a solid student academically, is expected to graduate in December and will be an early enrollee.

4-STAR LB MOHAMOUD DIABATE
School: Auburn HS, Auburn, Alabama
Height, weight: 6-3 1/2, 211
247Sports ranking: No. 4 OLB, No. 56 overall, No. 3 in Alabama
247Sports Composite ranking: No. 9 OLB, No. 140, No. 7 in Alabama
Mohamoud Diabate is a name in Texas A&M recruiting that seems to come and go. Hometown school Auburn is one to watch with his recruiting, as are Alabama and Florida. For whichever school that lands him, Diabate's athleticism is unquestioned, as he recorded a 38.1-inch vertical jump and a 40.5-foot power ball toss at The Opening Finals.

4-STAR ATH CHRISTIAN HARRIS
School: University Lab HS, Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Height, weight: 6-1, 225
247Sports ranking: No. 9 ATH, No. 131 overall, No. 8 in Louisiana
247Sports Composite ranking: No. 10 ATH, No. 130 overall, No. 6 in Louisiana
Which commit will the Aggies land next? Some people believe Christian Harris will be the next athlete to give his verbal commitment. Ranked as an athlete, Harris would play linebacker for the Aggies. The recruiting race appears to be down to Texas A&M, Alabama, LSU and Auburn, with the Aggies and Crimson Tide battling for the top spot.

5-STAR DT ISHMAEL SOPSHER
School: Amite HS, Amite, Louisiana
Height, weight: 6-3 1/2, 334
247Sports ranking: No. 2 DT, No. 18 overall, No. 3 in Louisiana
247Sports Composite ranking: No. 1 DT, No. 5 overall, No. 1 in Louisiana
Ishmael Sopsher is expected to make his verbal commitment public and also sign on Feb. 6, but we'll know more of exactly how important Texas A&M is to Sopsher on July 30, as he plans on announcing his top five then. Powerful and versatile for a guy his size, Sopsher has the tools to be a game-changing defensive tackle in the SEC immediately.
Ok. This makes more sense.

Most UGA folks who are dialed in would call Sanders and Webb long shots AT BEST.
Lots of confidence from Georgia folks on Dean. Think that one will be an all out war.
One thing that certain: he ain't going to Mississippi State

So Urban Meyer fired his longtime WR coach, Zach Smith, today due to multiple counts of domestic violence against his wife dating back to 2009.
First off, frick that guy. According to court documents he first assaulted her when she was 8 to 10 weeks pregnant.
Secondly, I wonder if that helps us with Jameson Williams.

Put Zach Smith in prison -- then he'll get beat on.
Steve Wiltfong: "It certainly helps Alabama ... Jameson has family pushing for Alabama as well. We'll see how this shakes out. He visits Oregon and Nebraska this week." ETA: "After talking to the family, this has narrowed the gap but Ohio State will head into these visits to Oregon and Nebraska still in the driver's seat."

Hank South: "He’s (Sopsher) announcing a top 5 on July 30. He’s been saying that was his plan since April."

Let's hope we get some commits out of this cookout. Sanders and Dax would be ok by me.

Any chance Dax shows up for Bama's cookout?
Guessing Davis is a back-up plan at RB for Sanders?

Daxton Hill's dad told Hank (BOL) he's not doing anymore summer visits.
If Bama lands Trey Sanders, I doubt Bama can also land Tyrion Davis or have room for him.
Davis is visiting UGA and Bama this weekend. John Emery is visiting UGA. There were 9 new CBs for Emery to LSU yesterday.
Mississippi State has lost their lead for Emery; should've taken Eric Gray when they could've. Now they'll probably try to flip him from Mich.
Texas might be leading LSU for Noah Cain, but UGA is recruiting Cain too. Realistically, LSU can only get two of Davis, Emery and Cain.

What's the word on Dean? Is he coming to the Cookout or does nobody know yet?
Posted on 7/24/18 at 12:47 pm to TizzyT4theUofA
Nakobe Dean told Hank (BOL) he's visiting FSU and maybe UF too this weekend. I doubt they're serious contenders to land him. From what I've seen, Bama leads over UGA and ATM for Dean. No school can match everything Bama offers for Dean, plus Bama is very close to home. Bama is a short and easy trip for Dean and his family.
