Gilbert (Ariz.) Williams Field defensive back Noa Pola-Gates has made two visits out to Tuscaloosa thus far in 2018 after naming the Tide his leader in February. Pola-Gates is rated the No. 23 safety in the country; however, it's cornerback where Alabama likes the hard-hitting Arizona DB.

Five-star defensive tackle Ishmael Sopsher is a big priority of Alabama's. The nation's No. 1 defensive tackle at one point didn't have the Tide among his top schools. Now it looks like a final decision could eventually come down to Alabama and LSU.

Four-star linebacker Henry To'oto'o took a visit to Tuscaloosa last month and gave Alabama rave reviews. The Concord (Calif.) De La Salle product -- Alabama defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi's alma mater -- plans to return for an official visit, and could be one to watch at the inside linebacker position.

Honolulu (Hawaii) St. Louis product Faatui Tuitele won't have to go far for the Polynesian Bowl. The Tide has hosted the 6-foot-4, 299-pounder twice this spring and summer and is currently in his top five along with Clemson, Ohio State, Texas and Washington.

Top Schools Already Courting 2021 OL Tate
quote:
It's early, but Fort Lauderdale Univeristy School offensive tackle Marcus Tate is looking like one of the top prospects in South Florida for the Class of 2021.
That's why schools from around the country have already offered the rising sophomore who could play multiple spots on the offensive line in college.
"Alabama, Georgia and Michigan are my most recent offers," Tate told InsideTheU and 247Sports on Monday. "I don't really have a top group of schools, but there are a few that are standing out ... Miami and LSU like before and now Alabama and Georgia and also Auburn."
Tate was in Tuscaloosa last month. He said that Brent Key invited him to workout for the Crimson Tide after watching him go through drills at a satellite camp.
"They saw me at the FAU camp and just wanted me to come up there and meet the coaches and they loved me so they offered. It was nice. Me just being a freshman it was awesome. I was a little star struck just meeting Nick Saban."
Tate also camped at Georgia and met Kirby Smart after touring Athens.
"I worked with [Sam Pittman]. He's a good coach. Real funny coach. That's what I like about him. That's kind of why I like Georgia right now."
Miami offered Tate back in January. The Hurricanes got the talented lineman on campus for the program's Underclassmen Day back in late March and will host him once again in a few weeks for Mark Richt's annual Paradise Camp which features a pool party on Friday and 1-on-1s Saturday under the lights.
"I have heard it's crazy over there and big time. I know lots of people have gotten offers from it and committed based off of it, so I'm excited. I know that it's really good competition. I'm just looking forward to getting reps from guys around the country and working with [Stacy Searels]. I have always wanted to do that."
Tate added that he might even be in Coral Gables before Paradise Camp.
"I was actually going to call [Coach Searels] once the dead period lifts and see if I can come hang out with him and spend a day with him. He said that I can do that"
While it's clear that Tate has interest in the Hurricanes along with the SEC powers, he appears to be in no rush to make a decision.
"It's probably going to be a while. I don't know. I don't want to rush anything."
Tate (6-5, 265) doubles as a forward on the hardwood and has played some AAU basketball this summer. He also holds offers from Texas A&M, Oregon, Kentucky, Louisville, Purdue, Syracuse and Tennessee.

I just glanced back over that list of prospects attending the Polynesian Bowl this year and they really lined up some really good players.
Good for them.
Good for them.

Slade Bolden is now listed as a WR after working out at Safety during the Spring
I didn't see any film of him at safety, but I saw his high school film at qb. He's incredibly shifty when he has the ball.

I know someone asked about the BOL article regarding the dream class earlier so I guess I'll post the guys they listed over the next 10 or so posts.

For those of you keeping score out there, that class (minus Rashad Cheney) would score a 331.46 on the 247 Composite rankings system.
For reference, the highest scoring class of all time (2010 Florida) scored a 324.62.
Our 2017 class scored a 323.87 and last year's Georgia class scored a 323.31.
